I bought one of these on e-bay with the goal in mind to record some of my drumming and teaching. I've had it a couple of weeks and my basic question is how the hell do you use it lol? I mean I appreciate all these product overviews and that's what I originally looked at to help me decide WHAT to buy but now that I'm ready to start using it I need just a very basic step by step on how to go about the process. Do you have any recommendations?
I use my zoom q4 for vlogging. used the ext lav mic to record audio to reduce wind couple of days ago. great. today did same thing. nothing. no sound in playback in the camera, or VLC of moviemaker. any ideas?
So its good for capturing concerts but I need to know if the quality is good zoomed in. I'm asking cause I'm going to a concert soon and where I'm based is pretty far away. Thanks in advance

My battery died after a few uses/charges. Works great if it's plugged in. Battery doesn't work.
I'm trying to use video and audio from ZOOM q4n on skype and I can't. I can only use video OR audio and not both together. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I have used zoom 4 for five years and its still working great just now watched your video and ordered a new Zoom Q8 from guitar centers love guitar centers they are great people and shop with ,,,, I bought a 8 channel mixing board run with mic inputs hopefully i will have a sensible affordable set up the zoom q4 has been great still works after five years it still works I got the Zoom q8 for the extra audio inputs ,, the sales person at guitar centers said they was three different video settings on zoom q 8 that all the video would not be 160 wide and look fish eyed and it also comes with ac power supply ,,,
It's too expensive for what it gives.
Just bought one off of reverb. It was mint condition for great price. Thanks for your very helpful review. So far I am loving it. Mainly wanted the mics for live recording but web cam mode through mixer is working for web performances so versatility as well.

it seems that Zoom is not ready yet for video technology.
This camera is perfect for musicians, the zoom microphone is just gold for recording music
The comparison with Iphone microphone was not accurate cause front camera uses mono mic,you should compare with back camera witch uses stereo microphone

I have a question does this Zoom Q4 allow a person to record in MP4?  This is one type of format that  can be placed onto Myspace.
I have this camera. However the Video settings offer me 1080p/25 and NOT 1080p/30. I wonder why. Any setting I need to correct? The video quality is terrible in all settings.
