Moire is caused by th Z7's lack of a low pass filter. I shot Canon for 20 years (still do but not as much). 5diii was my last Canon camera. Very happy with Nikon. I actually prefer their colors SOOC. It's the one thing people kept telling me about Nikon when I was a Canon shooter. I still use a lot of my EF lenses on my Z6 using Fringer's adapter.

Hi Chris, I saw in your mini review when a watched it a few weeks back that you mentioned sluggish auto focus capture for videos. I have just seen and tested a video from Monochromes channel. Makes a massive difference in stills and video focus speed. I hope it helps
XQD is expensive but you will find it worth every peny

Your fumbling with the lefty-tighty body cap made me chuckle. As a dual system user, even with long time Nikon experience I still have to pause when using Nikon's anticlockwise mount.
Hmmm if i had watched this video before your review of the kit zoom I would probably have bought the Nikon Z6 with adapter, on offer for £1600 at the moment, to use with my Nikkor AF S 24-85mm f3.5-4.5G and 4 AF-D primes; lenses in manual mode that I kept to use with my lovely old D700 and film FM2n. However your tales of massive barrel distortion (I dont use any Adobe software and use uncorrected open source raw file processing) reminded me of why I dumped Nikon five years ago; uncorrected G lenses and I got sick of manually adjusting them in post, so after 30 years as a customer, I dumped everything made after 2010. Anyway this video is too late now, my new Sony A7MkIII and Samyang 24mm f2.8 (on offer this week at £200, another purchase I can lay at your door) will be arriving on Monday; I odered the night after watching your kit zoom video. That is me set up for the next 5 years - winks
The thing about autofocus differences between D type and G type lenses is actually a misconception, G type lenses just don't have an aperture ring. AF lenses are the screw-driven ones, AF-S and AF-P have motors.

A pleasure to watch. Quality video with nice flow, narration, story. It doesn't look anything like those showmen type videos design for click counts. And the conclusions - great and realistic. Some comments still show focus towards hair-splitting, to use your term. Like, there is no high iso test. Yes there is - you showed photos in poor lighting at high iso. What do people want? Signal-to-noise measurement? Very few would actually undestand it anyway. Subscribed!

13:20 shooting images at a shutterspeed of 1/4 or 1/8 shows how much steady you are. I can't shoot images even at 1/60 shutterspeed. I need to practice now. Thanks for such a great video sir!
