Thank you for playing for an extended period and for using all the diffferent techniques - it's a brilliant way to show these off!Saroyan's soundbytes are very nice, but really, they should send you a pair of each to play for us!It would defnititely be a seller! :DI love playing zills, but I don't train near enough with them anymore which is a shame. I was never on your level, but I did use to be decent - unfortunately, I've found that zilling is a highly perishable skill. Very Use it or Lose it.I own seven pairs, but I have been holding off on buying the ones I REALLY -want- NEED because I don't train with them more.This is my current wish list:1: Saroyan Concertmaster (Bronze)2: Saroyan Ghawazee (Bronze)3: Saroyan Afghani Duo-Tones in Bronze+silverTbh, part of the reason I haven't fallen in despite loving on the two top ones for years is not the price of the instrument, which I find very fair indeed - it's taxes, customs and shipping on my end.But some day...*heart eyes*

As a drummer for dancers... this is one of the best videos for a beginner! I had previous instruction but I didnt stay with it.Why would I want to keep playing zills....thats for the dancer! Wrong! If I want to expand my sound pallet, expand my skills, become a better musician, I need to keep an open mind and learn. I appreciate the instruction.

Nice video! I don't think all Egyptian sagat are cast, but I've been having a hard time finding ones that aren't. When I was there in April last year taking tura lessons with Hany Morgan, I had a set the size of CDs that are cast (bought from a drum vendor at a festival in the USA) and he basically told me never to use them again lol. I was able to buy a set from him made by an undisclosed friend of his and I'm fairly certain they are hammered and/or stamped. I saw another tura player in that same tanoura group who makes his own and the hammering marks were visible. Hoping eventually I can get more clarity and information/sources on Egyptian cymbals. Hand position is really important for the larger Egyptian sagat/tura to avoid pinching, I could probably make a short video about that, hmmm...
I am waiting for the Saroyan Pro German Silver zills to be back in stock. I want to try something a little larger than what I typically use ( Student level Nefertitis and other simllar Turquoise zills).
