I'm still waiting for Zildjian to put out a really nasty dirty splash in a similar vein as the Sabian 7" & 10" HHX Evolution. Peter Erskine talks about the Flash splashes as being "dangerous" and that design is in the right direction but still not "dangerous" enough for me. I would just love to have a 6" Zildjian that doesn't sound like a bell...I have both the A and A Custom versions and while they certainly have their place, they don't give me that short, percussive, cutting trash sound that I'd like. Maybe when I grow up and get famous I can sit down with Paul Francis and get a design made. Crap, I'm almost 66...don't think I'm ever gonna grow up. ;)

Both 8 and 10 A Zildjians sound very nice, and the AC 8 is also great.
I'm not a fan of splash cymbals larger than 8". Just not appealing to me.
The A customs are easily my favourite splashes.
I've own a 10" k cust.dark for a very long time that I just love.My next one will be an 8" A flash splash,that's for sure.That rag time sound.!!!

Had a 10’ K Splash. Sold it and picked up the 10’ FLAsh Splash.

Great video. I’m a weekend warrior and have the 8” and 10” A splashes. They sound so nice together, like they were made out of the same casting on the same day - I got really lucky with them. There’s just something about the full sound of an A that works with everything. The only other splashes I’ve ever used that I felt the same about were the ZXT flash splashes, which are a little darker and louder, but don’t last quite as long and are hard to find now.

No kit is complete without at least one splash. Peter shows creative ways to use them in this video. That K crash sounds awesome too!

When I started out drumming at 40 years old I loved Pete's Signature Ride stick, Sorry Pete, I then moved on to Charlie Watt's signature stick, now I feel most comfortable with The Vic firth 5 classic....It seems the better I get the more stick I can handle....lol.
Even a big name like Peter Erskine is not going to make a difference here.

great video, would have prefered better camera angle choices though, you should have chosen the angle where you can actually see the splash being played on camera

I actually like these a lot, great punchy little splash with a piercing shimmer.
