Pop will always hold a special place in my heart. It's the first U2 album I ever bought, back in 2003. I fell in love with it pretty much instantly. I think it deserves to be named one of their masterpieces, along with Achtung Baby and The Joshua Tree.

I remember I was 10 years old when batman forever came out my dad and uncle took my brother and to watch it because we knew it was gonna be in movie didn't know it was gonna be on last scene but ever since that single I was dying for their next album and once discotheque there first single was released I was so pumped and Miami was my favorite jam at 12 years old Most U2 underrated album of all time the songs were so powerful u reviewers are dumb to say god will send isn't powerful we'll than that's why you just don't know I bet you havnt listened to this album since it came out I listen to this album at least every 3 months so it was not disappointing
POP is a BRILLIANT album.  In my opinion it is right up there with Joshua Tree and Actung Baby.  Some of their best songs are on this collection and I mean both lyrically and sound wise.  ex: Staring at the Sun, Gone and Wake up Deadman.  POP is an absolute MASTER PIECE
pop is waaaayyyy better than Zooropa imho. well other than the title track

Pop is one of the weakier U2 albums so I agree with your review. War, Joshua Tree, Unforgettable Fire, and Achtung Baby are their "holy four albums". By the way, I so admire you guys for sticking with this album review project.  Will be very cool when you reach 1000 reviews!
U2 never actually finished Pop. They had to put it out because they'd already booked the tour before it was finished and painted themselves into a corner. They re-recorded and remixed a lot of the songs when they released them as singles. I would advise anybody approaching this album to look for the single versions of the song especially 'If God Will Send His Angels', 'Last Night On Earth' and especially 'Please'.
