It does not have high speed sync ability. You will want the Canon 580 if you need you will likely need 2 of those because in high speed sinc cuts down on the power of the flash

Yes, you can have this flash triggered by other flashes. It has a switch to put it into slave mode.

Can you help me. I am trying to get this flash to fire off camera. I have a Canon T5i. But it will not slave unless my on camera flash pops up. Even with the Yongnuo triggers that I have. And whether it is on or off my camera, my camera does not register it in it's menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I got two of these and they are great, reliable flashes. I also have the YN-622n radio triggers from Yongnuo which are great, 100% reliable and fantastic set of features. Yongnuo gear may not take the punishment in a pro environment, for for the hobbyist Yongnuo great is great to buy gear that has same functionality as pro gear for the fraction of the price.
well, if flash the is on camera, yes, the flash zoom should be more or less close to the lens focal.
i really new to flash and especially speedlights. when working with speedlights without TTL, can u say that everytime i zoom in and out my lens, i should also adjust the zoom of my flash? thanks in advance!
Well in fact rechargeable batteries, 1.2V Nimh deliver more currrent than the 1.5V alkalines and in gave lower recycle time. On full power on the Yongnuo 560 II i get a flash every 2 sec, can't achieve that with an alkaline. The next level is a powerpack, but in this case take care of overheat.

Hi. If I'm not mistaken, "M" mode stands for Full Manual mode and not Master mode as you stated, which means every setting (power, zoom, etc) has to be set manually. However, you were right about it not waiting for other signal to flash other than from the hotshoe connection. You made a great video and helped a lot with your explanation. Keep up the good work! :)
I support canon to the fullest and own a 5d mark 3 and a few L lenses. But 500$ a flash and 300 for the trigger is somewhat obscene. I completely agree with you on the topic but the prices have to come down
I always us battery because they are 1,5v, rechargeable are 1.2v and this makes recycle time mucho longer. I buy IKEA batteries they are quite cheap

Since this flash has no AF-Assist beam I understand that I cannot use it to to focus in low light spaces. Am I correct?!

I own three of these, and I have no issues with powers on the fly. Just plan your shots, and use your aperture.

Anyone starting out will find working strictly in manual flash mode very frustrating. I don't care how cheap this flash is if a newbie is frustrated with it it will only get them to not use it or even stop taking photographs all together. There are times when using a strictly manual flash it totally fine but you need experience and knowledge to use it properly. Buy used if you can not afford a new flash made by your camera manufacturer, even other third party flashes will save you money and still not frustrate you by only allowing you to work in manual.

the YN560 II can in fact turn 180 degrees. just turn the head counter clockwise ;)

I have the Yongnuo Flash Yn-560 and I do a lot of off-camera-flash photography. so before you put the flash on the stand, you can go either full power or 3/4 of power, then you control the amount of light that will enter your camera via aperture and shutter speed and also light sensitivity through the ISO, that way you dont need to do go back and forth to on the stand like a novice to set the flash power.
I have a canon 580EX II and a 430EX. I bought the YN560 II and ended up buying 2 more. Been using them for almost a year and a half now, and they work just like the canon flashes. The downside are very minimal to almost insignificant. I'm ben thinking of even selling my two canon flashes now and getting two more of this flash.

I have the Yongnuo Flash Yn-560 III & My flash works fine it's just when I'm in dark places it can't focus in on the subject The red light doesn't go off which i know that helps with it & because I have a Canon 550D I can't manually control it on the camera. I have it on one of the M settings & it will work if there is a lot of light. But not In night clubs or dark places Where as if i change it to the other M setting with all the channels the red thing flashes.
