The box alone.. you know this will not go well. Missing focus, not usable in dark situations and soft pictures at f/2. This is a prime lens. And still not sharp? I would not let this thing penetrate my camera bag, even when I get it for free.

my 35mm F2.0 Seems to leak light where way to much light in where at let's say at 1/2000 @ F5.6 at 50mm it's fine wher at the same setting's on my 35mm at the same scene it is very overexposed

Ok this is really weird. I just bought this lens used. And it is really, really sharp - the bokeh is soft. And in the center the focus is really sharp. The motor is weak, but that doesn't bother me too much.Just weird that your lens is that dull.

I used to own the 35mm from sigma, canon and yongnuo, the canon 35 is the most disappointing one! the built quality is much better than yongnuo, but the image quality is not that much different than the differents in price, so, I sold it and keep the sigma and yongnuo! the same for the canon 50mm f1.4,
Better the Canon 40mm, near enough focal length for similar price used with an incredibly nice picture quality.

Just bought the canon 35mm f/2 (non-IS) as per end of this review for 100 quid - having good fun with it despite its age!
OK, but not reliable. Mine crapped out after a few months. Pictures came out overexposed (ie nearly white) and it fails to find focus. I should have spent the extra money and bought a Canon lens.
To be honest, Im happy with mine ( its been a year now )

Very noisi streets. First two minutes were hard.Something i wish to see in your video is pictures at f5.6 and more, f8 f11. Im not gonna use this yongnuo at 2.8, and if i do, i wont mind if its not perfect. I just want a small cheap lens in cade i break it.
If it's worse than the Canon lens, then it's really bad.

Yono lens imaging is OK, but the focusing speed is too slow and the focusing sound is too loud.
Why does a prime lens have two rings? (No aperture ring it seems).
Is anyone else having problems using aperture control with this lens on a full frame camera

I am glad to see this video in 2021 and I have this lens for years mainly for street photography or portraits.I always love the 35 prime and I will say this lens is really good regardless the price or not. The original ef 35 F2 will cost double or triple but not that much better.I will say its a good buy

I have canon version on 5dmk2 focuses instantly on same/similar distances. Between different distances near, far and in between it takes about one second.
yeah I bought this lens for the budget and rarely use the auto focus cause its so bad. my nifty fifty has way better, really good auto focus.

That B+W uv filter probably around less the price of the lens.
Switch it to manual focus. You hardly need to focus with a 35mm lens. Zone focus like all us old school users do.A full frame lens for cheap.What's not to like
I asked for this lens as a Christmas present and I feel so bad cause:1. At the lowest aperture, the pictures are SUPER soft.2. The focusing, especially away from the center focus, is AWFUL. Even when I try to use manual focus it never actually gets a sharp image.I still have it, and I'm trying to figure a way how to work with its defects rather than trying to correct them.
