I'm considering a melodica for playing in Celtic sessions where I don't want to use a full accordion. I'm a little concerned about the comments I've read about this model being sharp. Could this blend well with other instruments tuned to A440?

I have one, I don't play it as much as my Suzuki Melodian M-32C, as I don't like the tone as much, as the reedier, more jazzy sounding (IMHO) Suzuki. I did play it once though for a tango, Por Una Cabeza, as I needed the extra notes on top, and it was WAY better for that tune! Love the video!

really useful review 👍 Santa has bought me the 32D which I'm looking forward to learning - just one question, all the keys are slightly stiff to press down initially although move freely - is this normal? Just wondering if new instruments need using to loosen them up

Hi bro! I've been watching to your videos to find a nice melodica that I could buy to use in recordings. Normally I have problems with the mid frequencies when I use my hohnner ocean.....listening to your video, I found that maybe this Pianica is more "closed" and soft with the mids. Should be nice to record. What you tell me about this?

I strongly disagree. I run a Hammond 44hp with quarter inch jack for acoustic electric play. Also comes with pegs for guitar straps

This is years gone by now, but for Auld Lang Syne, I'll mention that "syne" is not "song" in Scots; it is closer to "since". "The Old Long Song" is actually a completely different set of lyrics - not a translation. Auld Lang Syne is more properly interpreted as "the times we shared long ago"- implying "we've been through a lot, my friend". Great video.
You think auld lang syne is the most known somg? Nearly every english speaker learns the alphabet song, written in 1835.

I bought this exact melodica (same color even) from Amazon and it’s so far out of tune that it’s unplayable. Each octave is out of tune with each other octave. All chords are automatically out of tune, and forget about trying to play with someone else. Using my pederson tuner, each note shows that it’s off by between 25 and 50 cents of pitch. I saw so many good videos about this model, but it really is a piece of junk, and my friend’s $25 no-name melodica sounds world’s better. I’ve been mixing audio with a pair of yamaha monitors for 16 years now, I guess they take their electronics manufacturing far more seriously than their instrument manufacturing.

The Gregorian chant Dies Irae is used heavily in movies and music to represent death. You may not recognize it at first, but then you look up compilation videos on YouTube. There are songs older than Auld Lang Syne in use today, but they usually aren’t united music and lyrics. The music could be written down somewhere and the lyrics somewhere else—the poem Auld Lang Syne was probably sung to a different tune long ago. And it’s not Middle English, it’s Scots dialect.

Hi, everybody! I'm sharing some modes for A50 let you use it's function comfortably: - Add a tumbler swich to ARP. Hold button pins to make realtime interactive arpeggio chord recognize without pauses. (Same effect as holding APR Hold button pressed while playing). I placed this tumler to the left side of keyboard. Now you could use arpeggio as interactive accompanement - Add same tumbler for pins of motion effect let you turn on and off effect and do not hold Motion Effect button while playing. This two mods will make you keyboard much more useful. PS: The only thing I could not solute is noisy tone Hiss and Buss in AUX chain. It's something really eviyl bad in this yamaha keyboard. It's interesting that Yamha SHS-10 not producing such dirty sound noice in AUX chain. I would like to know from Yamaha did they do this noisy AUX especially for A50 engine? This is shamefull that newer keyboard is so badly noisy than 10 years older keyboard. So I bought A50 but cannot connect it to reverb or FX processor by the reason of annoying noisy tone appearing in this chain. Thanks guys!
