I'm trying to figure out if something's wrong with mine. It looks like when you play an E chord your finger is well behind the 2nd fret on the 5th string, but I can't avoid it buzzing without being closer to the fret. My finger on the 4th string doesn't leave room to get that close.

I bought Yamaha c40 guitar for the 1st time, few days back. Earlier I was using Yamaha F 310 Acoustic guitar. I am still learning to play Guitar. Compared these two guitars, c40 I find chords are not sharp and clear like in F 310. They say you have to tune C40 frequently for some time until it settles. Is it correct? or how can I get the chords sounds clearly when I play c40. Best Regards, Seevali (Sri Lanka)

The c40 has been discontinued, do you still feel the same way about the C40 II modell that replaced it ,i heard they don't sound as good as the original due to the change of the wood that is used.

Got mine to learn flamenco and it turned out well: my C40 has an action height of about 2.7mm at the 12th fret, which surprised me after realizing what the expected differences in actions were between classical and flamenco guitars.

Thank you so much for the best video about C40! I want to play Irish folk and pop music on it and you showed that it could be great. I have sensitive skin so I do not want to go with acoustic guitar and its steel strings and I saw in this video that C40 would be great. Maybe I will still go to acoustic guitar F310 like I see on your wall but I will definitely start with C40 and I thank you for that. Also there is official Yamaha shop in my town, Tbilisi, Georgia so I can go and physically tough the guitar before buying it which is great. Thank you so much! Good luck!

The 7th Reason is that this guitar looks like the perfect kitchen table practice guitar no matter where you go from here. I love classical guitar from Bach to Bossa Nova but my destination is a Fender Jaguar because it too has a short scale that will make chords much easier to play.
The 6th Reason is that the strings are nylon so there is no finger pain at all - therefore you won't quit!
The 5th Reason is the shorter scale of 630mm (Distance from Nut-2-Bridge) which means that the frets are closer together which is great for young people and anyone with smaller hands.
