I noticed these are so floppy that in higher winds they still move around alot. So I made my own with thicker wider panels. Works way better.

Just fold over the top of the bag, slide the screen into the bottom section, fold back up the top... problem solved!

Wind screens are a necessity in Texas. But like you said in rocky areas they don't do well. The wind will push the screen around if I don't reinforce it some how. Great review Luke!

Good call about the bag. I totally agree. After snagging my screen one too many times on the bag, it may have ended up in with the kindling.

Timely review. I have just bought a stove that came with a similar screen. I will go out to the shed tomorrow and stamp the legs in the same way. Yes the bag is horrible. The screen catches on the seam on the inside of the bag. Solution, turn the bag inside out. Simples ;-)

Very very dangerous, if the cooking pot overhangs it put extra heat on the gas cannister, then you get a massive explosion....

This is a nice shield, I bought one and it works great. Couple of things I would recommend, the edges are sort of sharp and in time can cut the travel bag, I noticed this potential so I put the shield into a plastic ziplock bag then I put that into the cloth bag. The other thing which is critical, DO NOT wrap the shield around a fuel tank/stove without leaving one end of the shield open to ventilate any possible fuel leakage, if you don't do that the fuel canister could explode; I have heard from other campers that this can happen. Apparently if there is a fuel leak, and being propane mostly, the fuel will settle to the bottom, or ground, then while the stove is lit, the gas builds up till the flame from the stove ignites it; this situation is mentioned by all stove makers.
