Re: the clam shell mount. If for some reason you should have to move it, then remount it with 3M command adhesive strips! ( guaranteed not to damage surfaces & easy to remove!).

The dash mount horizontal one is great if you add sticky velcro to it and to the dash but you have to get it in the right spot, it's literally the only one I've ever had work consistently.

Any suction phone holder and the bosynoy worries me during the freezing winter. Don't think can hold during winter.
I once defended a guy who was pulled over because he had dice hanging from his mirror and another because he had a crack in the front glass, the window mount might be an actual vision obstruction as opposed to an excuse to pull you over without cause!
I had the clamshell one. I didn't like it because I have a Samsung phone and to access it you have to press a side button, and the clamshell does not allow that. Also after a week or two it kept sliding off the dashboard. Even after washing and drying the bottom repeatedly.
Really like that wireless charging one. Very perfect.
Never go for magnetic ones if your are has alot of potholes they will move and fall off
Wireless chargers are great things. I love my wireless charger because i can charge my phone, watch and airpods so quick and its great for battery life. My charger is from and they are awesome company.
my 370Z's dash is slightly textured and i cant find anything that sticks. dont want anything stucked to the window
I tend to avoid anything that suctions to my window or sticks on top of my dash as it limits my driving view. I don't recommend vents mounts as the vent itself is flimsy and can easily break. And. the thought of a sticking anything to my dash just makes me leery. iOtte and Scosche are good brands, but I prefer the ProClip Mount (not mentioned in this video) / The price point is higher than the cheap vent or suction mounts, but the product is very durable and fits the car and the phone perfectly. It's worth every penny. I've tried the cheap plastic mount once and it only lasted a week. My ProClip mount has been in my cars for more than six years.

be careful with the ones that use that gunky stuff on the bottom to hold itself. after a while the gunk will separate from the rest of it and you'll have to buy some gunk off to remove it.
