When and why do buildings collapse?
Why Buildings Don't Fall Over | Why Don't Skyscrapers Fall Down? HOW BUILDINGS WORK: AN INTRODUCTION
6 Construction Failures, and What We Learned From Them
Structural Failure: Building Collapse due to structural failure
The Sampoong shopping mall collapsed because the builders cut corners, and there were cracks in the walls weeks before it crumbled. It was on the show Seconds From Disaster.
Wrong Indian map used
Or, just hear me out, stop building skyscrapers on top of fault lines
Thanks
Just watch India!
Thanks for the video.
Buildings aren’t designed to “stand the test of time”. They are often given a design life and anything after that is borrowed time.
This is why I want to become an engineer when I get older, so I can understand and prevent this from happening.
So which one did the twin towers failures
Aspiring civil engineers here
What's up with the map of India?
Finally some video about this
Thanks for made this video.

I always love your videos. They are very informative. Though I would like you to make video in a total different concept than you ever did before
Well actually theres 2 skyscrapperrs that fell....
Thanks for this video, I've learned a lot of things that I can to use on my school projects
I was just watching a video of a real state dude who goes to an apartment on the 75th floor in NYC ! Like I have vertigo I’m soooo scared of just watching the video ☹️
She looks fucking stoned. Like blasted ass high... lol
Mr ladybug is staring into my soul
I didn't expect to see a girl like you talking about engineering and architecture it gets me all hot and heavy hahaha
I love your videos please send more
Thank you for this
I thought it was mostly aerodynamics reducing drag, except for that one building where they have a mass inside to displace the center of gravity but let's see what the expert says.
😂🤣😂 What's up with the dogui?
Hey! I hope to major in architecture after highschool. But i watched your 16 things i wish i knew before majoring in architecture video and a few others and i learned so much! So thank you!
u deserve more subscribers and hype 😤 ❤️
Love this video Nat! I would be so grateful if you did the Tension and Compression video. This helps so much, thank you 🖤💗
Always enjoying you’re videos , Loving the fire that you have always in the background . Do you think that In Cali the Skyscraper are built stronger cuz of the earthquakes or everywhere here in the States are built the same? Greetings from the West Coast.!
Beautiful video Nat! Thank you for the content you provide to us as always.
Your channel have slowly become my favourite architecture side notes
Hi im first 😉
do not think i am going back to a job that fell ,twice . i remember the crane fall in barnwell sc ,twice . fell around my buddy ,twice , he should have gone and bought a lottery ticket .
Just think how many construction failures we’ll have when the fascists take over—-those people think science is some kind of witchcraft.
How did the twin towers and WTC7 collapse then?
Something we learned
I love the word…probably. 😢😂
My high school held our senior prom in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in May 1981 - just a month before the collapse of the Skywalks. Of course, most of us at some point during the evening, wandered through the atrium and across all of the Skywalks because they were so interesting...and a bit flexy. Sadly, a month later it was an utter disaster and bloody chaos. Now there is only one walkway in the atrium and it is anchored on two massive pillars.
What really happened to The Twin Towers were Structural Failure. I aint no conspiracy theorists.
Rest In Peace, Tubby, you have been and will be sorely missed.
I live near where Galloping Gerdie (the nickname we locals called The Tacoma Narrows Bridge) was and I've been over the bridge that replaced it. When we were crossing the bridge that replaces Gerdie, I asked my Step Dad where the Galloping Gerdie is right now, my Step Dad responded under us which gave me the chills.
Tacoma Narrows: Probably the most spectacular bridge collapse ever.
Damnit. Here I am just wanting to watch how an I beam bounces and now Hank Green is teaching me about different engineering disasters and I'm fascinated
How many construction workers perished in YOUR bridge project? Really? Well did your bridge wobble? How many times did yours have to be rebuilt after it collapsed and killed innocent people?
I'VE SEEN WORSE!!!.. Where i live in the city of Las Cruces, NM SOME builders use foam ONLY as their sheathing. I made a video about it.. Check it out. @
4:00 I think the subtitles are supposed to say "bridge's designers" not "British designers".
May need to update this unfortunately.
Lol in London some people still call it "the wobbly bridge" even though it hasn't wobbled in decades.
A new one in Miami.
Also - the trusses added to the Bronx-Whitestone bridge; because of its similar construction to the Tacoma narrows bridge.... the Bronx-Whitestone however used deeper girder sections - the engineer for that bridge Othmar Ammann (same guy who did the George Washington Bridge, the Throgs Neck Bridge and the Verrazano Narrows Bridges) felt the bridge was safe but trusses were added in 1947 for an abundance of care - and to reassure the public. Those stiffening trusses were removed during a renovation in the mid-2000, they weren't necessary. I recall those trusses when I was traveling that route and the Throgs neck in the 90s and it was odd to see them removed in the 00s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronx%E2%80%93Whitestone_Bridge
I was only 8 when the Westgate Bridge collapsed in the heart of Melbourne's port area, Australia's second largest city - 1970 it happened, construction workers were the victims, it terrified me into becoming a very strong swimmer (naive of course). So one bonus that came out of it sadly. The Royal Commission that followed found major flaws in design, construction and materials used, the full monty it sounds. So obviously no one saw that coming....all examples seem to have stemmed from some need to save $$ on some aspect of the projects.
RIP Tubby
