Well this is some great info. But some more details on what procedures should be done to help with 7018 electrodes that weren't kept in an oven. I live in dry Colorado but I suspect that since I can't leave my rods in an oven to keep them dry that I am running a risk in using them. You mentioned preheating or post heat. What about using both? For how long. What kind of temperatures. Would it help to get the 7018 rod hot before using it. You've got a lot of great info in this video but not enough to really help.

Wish you would have panned your audio and got rid of that annoying music.
What if the 7018 rods haven't been in an oven? How much exposure to the atmosphere can they handle? Obviously in humid environments I'm guessing you've got an hour or 2. What about in dry environments like Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and such. Can I pass my torch over a rod I am getting ready to use and heat it up to 200 or 300 degrees F or do they have to be oven baked to what is it like 700 degrees F for 8 hours. I can't remember the procedure for that anymore. Seems to me most people like myself can't justify leaving the rods in an oven until you're ready to use them.
