I wish I could specially order a Victorinox knife made with the blades you desire and not what they group together. At least they should make one special for wood carvers (two small blades designed similar to "Flex-Cut" with a saw blade and large roughing blade.) Blades need a Rockwell hardness of 58 or higher and stainless steel no# 440 or better with lockable blades. No more than 3 slots thickness, without any blades on the back. Rounded handles for comfort would be nice too.
Great review! I bought a Evolution 18 as a successor to my original Wenger from 1974. Exactly the same model, just a Philips screwdriver instead of the corkscrew and no lock. Except for a few minor details, this is almost 1 on 1 the same knife. There are a few Victorinox changes such as the awl, tweezers can opener and toothpick. My Wenger started to show some wear after 47 years so I needed a new one. I am happy with this Evolution 18. I lightly filed the sharp edges on the Philips screwdriver and the awl with a small metal file. I also have a Victorinox Huntsman and he also has almost the same tools on board. Only I find the Huntsman just a bit too clumsy, that's why I only use it for special purposes. The Evolution 18 is a bit more compact.
