Thanks for making this. Very little content available for this tool. Nice to see an unboxing and use video before purchase!
FOCUS! OMG how many thumbs do you have.
You're supposed to lock the hose in place first. Then the cutting tool reconnects to the main tool to perform the cut. Then you remove the cutting tool but leave the hose clamped in place. It will be at the perfect height for the barb insertion.
Real workshop is another level, the finish and quality is ultra-quality.
front brake on the left ?
HB-M950 front hub.. what a pain in the ass to service.. i feel like bashing the damn thing in pieces.. and i've been fixing bikes for more than 30 years.. OMG OMG...
Great vid I was afraid of changing my front hydraulic brake out but now I feel like an expert!
I have watched a lot of bleed videos and though they were shorter, yours was well worth the time. Thank you. I built up Scott Scale Premium with XTR di2 as well. I actually stumbled upon your video searching for BB installation. I just ordered anew cup set. I was running an SRM Sram XX and now back to XTR 9000. Anyway, I am going to watch some of your other di2 stuff. Pretty logical stuff though. Easier than mechanical.
The brake hose should run on the INSIDE of the left fork leg, otherwise, in case of impact, the hose can be damaged...
What mineral oil are you using? There are no less than 100 that will work and you are clearly not using the Shimano pink stuff.
Fantastic job of instruction. Clear and easily understood. Just one question...around minute 2:00 I see a wire clip looking device on the upper right corner of your grey cloth. I'm not sure what purpose it serves. Thanks again.
thanks i appreciate that.
Clearest bleed instructions that I have seen on youtube. Very nice!
Hey Larry Best bleed instruction and demo to date, i rewatch this every time i do mine, the only difference that i do is tilt the lever 45 degrees up and 45 degrees down this i gets all the bubbles
#mad veins
how are the Brakes holding up after 3 years ??? got a used shimano Deore BR-m 615 added Esso Mineralube 20w-20 did a rough Bleed seems ok just to try Generic mineral oil ??? what oil you using not Red Color ???????? i also picked up a Can Green stuff Pentosin 7.1 mineral oil !!!
nice trick with the rubber band, will check it out. thanks.
doesn't air go up? So why try to push it out downwards?
As a heads up to those using this video as a guide... using oil other than Genuine Shimano mineral oil (as it appears in this case) will void any warranty Shimano offers. While it would seem as though "mineral oil is all the same" Shimano maintains that theirs is specifically designed to work with their hoses and seals. As a Shimano certified technician, I find this disconcerting considering he appears to have mixed pink, Shimano oil (in the funnel) with clear, over the counter oil (in the syringe). Not trying to stir the pot or whatever, but this does bear mentioning considering the subsequent cost associated with replacing XTR parts should a problem arise.
nice work. it is easier just removing the system. thanks
So far they are flawless
M9020 and M8000 have reports of pumping issues and bite point inconsistencies. Have you ever experienced such issues?
I bought quick fit xtr m985, m998, xt m785, slx m66 this for my slx -7120. It does not work! There is no thread on the black screw so no chance to screw it with the gold connector. Now i am sitting in garage and getting angry and getting more angry....
Really annoying that this kit isn’t supplied with with the required banjo bolt. Bought new callipers and levers separately as I was using a new jagwire hose kit and adaptor set. Now I can’t finish the install until I’ve ordered and waited for the banjo bolts.
what is the torque of banjo bolt at the caliper
So the quick fit kit is 100% necessary to fit the hoses? & it's only sold separately because you need a different kit depending on your bike's particular caliper manufacturer? I have Sram Level TL brakes but I can only find the quick fit kit for Avid Elixir. Will this be compatible? Thank you!
What else can I use to cut the housing if I don't have the Jagwire tool?
Hi, do you have video to fit the quick-adapter set to Magura MT series brakes?
Will this also work with Xtr m9000
