Nicely explained brother. I have schnell metta 29 inch 21 speed. Bought it two months ago but when climbing a flyover or something it's rear gear automatically shifts to higher ones can you tell me what to do. And this "auto shifting" happens really roughly like the gears stuck and the shifts to higher ones. It sometimes even happens on plain road. Is the issue due to excess oiling??

Hi GCN, I have one of those quick release breaks where you can open the break wide so you can remove your wheels without doing anything else with the breaks. however, I'm running 32mm wide tires and I have to deflate the tires in order for me to remove it. Is there a way where I can set it up so I don't have to keep deflating my tires?

I tried getting my brake pads close as possible but when I tried to center the calipers after, it messed up the distance of the brake pads to the rims :D But I didn't try it while keeping the brakes engaged. Using old school mtb with V-brakes: Attach the pads roughly on place, don't tighten much yet. Use a rubber band (from old inner tube) to bind the lever near the grip. Loosen pads and align them, tighten up properly. Long pads (70 mm) don't need toe-in, shorter ones possibly need some. Remove the rubber band, make sure both pads come off the rim evenly. Because the tire is far wider than the rim, make sure nothing rubs when the pads travel away the rim. Sometimes you have to repeat the process a few times to get everything right.

Hello, thanks for informative video. However, I still have one question: the lock ring of barrel adjuster I got doesn't thread in to securely fixed position while I am turning barrel adjuster outward to get more tension on the cable. I assume, that the threads could be worn out ? Also, I noticed that the brake lever has a little bit more play compared to the other one (the cable and housing is brand new). So, what is possible to do if the lock ring gets twisted while trying to tight it ?

Thank you very much for this tutorial explanation. Very much non intuitive from righty tighty for more tention you go the opposite way, and then use the lock ring. Bike servicing is very fiddly but now I have the understanding to adjust my brakes and derailleur with more knowledge and certainty, thanks again.
