Trendy Retail Aluminum Alloy Mountain Bike Seat Post Bicycle Seatpost Tube 28.6mm 450MM Reviews from YouTube

Seatpost Size - From Wrong To Right
For more bike repair videos hit the subscribe button and click the notification bell was just wondering about that because I have a bicycle with a seatpost so tight on the frame that the bolt is a little bit bent. Also, the seatpost is stuck on the frame so I sprayed some WD-40 to losen it up a bit. Hopefully it will come out and I can start fixing it.
What is the seatpost size of a classic bike frame?
RJ, can I have one of those Diet Pepsis?
2:58I had a mechanic that sabotages my bike parts so that it would have to buy another parts. One of them is he tried to convince me to buy the 27.2mm seat post when I just found out today that my stock one is 28.6mm. Now I am current waiting for a adaptor
so touching for an excellent video
Hey RJ! I have no idea what my classic bike is until now hence the seatpost database is a bit toast. However I'm still betting mine is a 26.8 (a 27.2 does not fit on my seattube). I'm currently running a 25.4 with a homemade shim lol.But in case, can I measure the seat tube diameter and base off that? Or is it still thicker than the inside? Cheers.
Nearly the problem i am facing with my rebuilt bike, i need a longer seat post but cannot find one that is exactly 25.4mm I have checked 2 and they were both out by a TINY amount which falls in or if tightened, squashes the frame tube to nearly touching. Infuriating :)
Hello and thanks for the videos. A quick question please. Seat posts that have a sloping point on the bottom rather than a flat circled bottom. Usually the insertion measurement is on the back and the pointed side goes into the seat tube facing forward. Is there any structural reason you should not turn this post around to avoid bottoming out in the water cage bosses. Thank you.
I think someone is using your videos without credits. found with a lot of old steel bikes that the clamp was compressed super tight or the wrong shim was used and you have to pry it open again if you want to use the propper size seatpost. Lucky you can coldset steel frames without damaging it. Alloy is basically runined at this point.
I couldnt understand what name u said to get the chart ,,,,,,I have a islander cruiser 1980 and Im trying to find out what size seatpost I need ,,,,been a hit n miss for me Ive tried 27.2 , 25.4 and still too big Ive ordered a 22.2 and Ill be getting it on the 21st of may have to wait ,, but if u can help me out ide be very much appriciative of ur help
A tapered stainless steel rod (turned by a machine shop) would work wonders in expanding the pinched area.
That's a lot of Diet Pepsi!
My bike is not on Sheldon's list. It's a 74 cheap huffy cantilever. 7/8's is close, but no cigar.Any ideas?
Hello RJ, thank you again for all the effort you put all these years. I can't thank you enough. I was wondering what the minimum insertion is for 1'' vintage road bike seatpost with no marks on it. Sheldon Brown says 2'' for stems... My ideal frame size is 60 but I have a 57 frame
Whats the minimum insertion for steel frame 80s mountain bikes?
Hi i want to install suspension seat post onto the old mountain bike. The only problem I've got is the old seat post is 25.09. And the new suspension seat post I'm thinking of buying is 27mm is there a way around the problem. The bike does have steel frame and it does have a split where the seat post goes in. Let me know what you think I should do. If you have any suggestions.
RJ, thanks for posting this video. It was very helpful. I just purchased a 1992 Raleigh Competition that requires an extreme amount of pressure to get the seat post to stay. The current seat post measures 25mm, but after some research on the internet, I believe the particular model I have requires a 25.8mm post. I think the extra 0.8mm smaller diameter is where my problem lies. I just ordered a replacement on eBay that is supposed to be 25.8mm. Your video was the only one I could find that has same one bolt design of seat post clamp like I have.
I have a 28.6 steatpost and the bike takes a 29.6. can't find the right seat post anywhere. Can I use some electric tape maybe?
