I’m deciding between a Trek Fuel Ex 7, a Canyon Torque 5, and a Specialized Stumpjumper Alloy. I ride to school, but I also do a lot of hard street and trail jumps, drops, and “huck to flat”s. The Canyon’s longer travel makes it seem better for the hard jumps, but the Trek and Specialized’s weight and feel make them seem better for the trail riding I do. How does the Trek and Specialized hold up on big jumps and drops, and how does the Canyon climb?
Currently have a Roscoe7 now. I want a full sus but man, I might look for a pre owned i duno… I really want this tho!

Something I have not been able to find about the aluminum trek Fuel Ex. How progressive is the rear suspension? Is it a good fit to a coil shock? The closest info I have found is that Leverage ratio is 2.7 (starts at a 3.0 and ends at 2.5). The progressive rate is 15%. Trek comment is that they were focused on having a good mid-stroke experience. The problem...I don't know what this info means. I am 245 lbs and cannot get the rear shock settled (even using the shock wiz) not matter what I do. It is extremely stuff and uncomfortable or I'm blowing through suspension on regular trailing riding.

I had this bike yrs ago, it looked so cool, but the function was poor. That twist shifter was horrible, being that it took 1/3 of the grip, so you moved it all the time. The derailleur popped all the time, gear changes were never exact. The seat was GARBAGE. But after seeing this video, I will get another one and do these upgrades. I was told by a bicycle shop, those upgrades would have cost more than the bike itself. NOW I know they were full of crap. Thank you for this video.

By adding the additional spacer did it require a longer bolt?
Dude I had to change my chain to get the freewheel to shift properly.
I added that same Mega Range and Shifter to mine...

Thanks for the vid just picked one of these up and definitely want to up grade the shifter I hate it. I like the mega gear u put on it. That would definitely help climbing. Thats the main draw back on the single front sprocket is the low gear isnt as low a other mountain bikes and the step hills with a heavier bike make for a workout with the factory freewheel

Is dual sport 2 better if you upgrade some things, put thinner tyres, lighter fork, faster drivetrain, or should I eventually save money for another type of hybrid like fx ? I currently ride dual sport 2 upgraded with alivio drivetrain which is a little faster

I bought this exact bike brand new back in March of this year. Ba***s bikes uk. It’s a very smooth rolling bike. Perfect for city sprints and daily commutes on and off roads. However, I did have to return this bike back to the dealer three times to rectify a problem with a worn head set and pedal bearing which constantly clicked while on the move.
