Tbh there's nowt wrong with them. I have a bear that my dad had. He gave it to me & after my parents split up when I was a young kid it became my connection to him when I felt alone. Teddy lives on the shelf above my bed & came with me after I bought my house!
I've got a Toothless plush that my boyfriend bought for me because I love HTTYD and he's got an otter plush I bought him because he loves otters (go figure). We both prefer cuddling each other but when that's not possible we have our plushies to remind us of one another. It's a compromise we both can live with. =)

I stopped sleeping with plushies just before my teens but then my boyfriend bought me a stuffed Toothless (love those movies) shortly after we met and now I can't sleep without it. Ha ha

I was an OCD kid. No feces on my toys. No one touched them aside from me after thoroughly washing my hands and keeping them in safe spaces where they can't get dirt on them, unfortunately dust still collects sometimes. I was the kid putting things away saying "It'll be worth money later." Now I have 300+ Beanie babies worth less than we paid for and a heavy sentimental value is left on them anyway.
