Advances in technology and the Chinese economy are very beneficial for developing countries So that high-tech products become affordable, and China buys raw materials at reasonable prices, even China builds raw material processing factories in developing countries, thus creating jobs. before the progress of China, developing countries were exploited by means of developed countries selling their technological products at very high prices while raw materials from developing countries were bought very cheaply. This is a form of neo colonialism (new style of colonialism by using technology instead of using weapons). Those who are disadvantaged by China's progress are Western countries, the United States, Japan and other developed countries now they can no longer monopolize their technology because they cannot compete with high-tech Chinese products at affordable prices, China's progress improves human welfare, products that used to be expensive are now become affordable so that people with low incomes can buy their necessities because prices are cheaper, we as developing countries must be able to take advantage of the rise of China for the progress of our country. Now we can buy machinery and capital goods at affordable prices from China to advance the business world so as to increase people's productivity instead of buying consumer goods from China. The western countries of the United States and their allies spread hoaxes so that developing countries continue to be hostile to China, if we are influenced to become hostile to China, what's in it for us? With a simple logic, we are better off buying cheap or expensive goods for the same quality.
Relevant discussion but misses crucial points from India’s perspective. Sana and dr Joshi’s comments were insightful. Specially dr. Joshi’s . Did anyone mention the Ashgabat agreement, north south corridor project and the Chennai Vladivostok maritime corridor ? Those are India’s efforts to engage with Central Asia ( all the above listed projects are minus China ) Any discussion from India’s perspective about China’s engagement with central Asia through BRI is not complete without analysing India’s efforts at engaging with Central Asia sans China . Specially because they strengthen India’s key relationship with Russia ; which in turn is key to balancing China .
Europe is only value optic target... Real target is south east asia & Taiwan ?
These guys are so jealous of China and it's rise. The BRI will be implemented and bring prosperity to all its participants. Those nay sayers who feel its doomed should shut their mouth and wait for it to fail as they predict. After all why spend so much airtime on something that is insignificant.
Debt trap.
India must have a consistent foreign policy as far as our straegic backyard in the Indian Ocean is concerned .Ambiguities on this part can compromise our interests. Quad core objective is still vague and does not take into consideration regional powers that are facing increasing assertiveness by China in the contended borders of region.
It is very expensive book for me....
I recently ordered this book online
