I hate the new gui, it looks too modern, it doesn't fit with the style of calculator, they need to either make a new model with an updated look or keep the old gui
Good video. I have had version 1 since 2011 and use it heavily and as of Dec 2020 the battery is still good, the case, screen etc still sound. I only regret upgrading the software to version 4 as this has slowed it sown, version 1,2,3 software was faster and there is no easy way to downgrade. So after over 9 years of heavy usage I think I have got my monies worth and may buy version 2 because this video shows clearly that it is faster and has a slightly larger viewing area.....I would benefit from these two changes. Good video.
I always loved calculators, can you explain me why? I really have no ideas, I liked math and physics when in high school, they was fairly easy for me, I never encountered any particular difficulties. Can you tell me your opinion why a kid (me) could love calculators ever since when he was 4, even if he can’t use all the functions and options?

ti nspire cx ii cas is 3.32 seconds, and just comparing my old calculator, a ti 84 plus cse (not ce), it took 9:38.45

For those Italians that are looking at this video: DON’T BUY ANY OF THESE IF YOU WANT TO USE THEM FOR EXAMS! In Italy they’re not allowed in almost every context because of CAS. Stick with a non CAS calculator if you want to use it in exams.
I like Texas Instruments as a brand but the N-Spire series is just ridicolous. It's such a shame they're able to mantain their dominant position while selling likely the worst graphing calculator around for pretty much the highest price. Both the O.S and hardware would need a huge refresh to even start thinking to return competitive. But they don't economically need to do that so i think we'll just keep getting horrendous products for insanely high prices until Casio successfully penetrates the U.S market too.
Hello ! I enjoyed watching your video! I want to know what the ti nspire cx ii cas can do that the HP prime cannot ! I was looking at the ti website on their which calculator is right for me and it looks like the ti can handle a lot more than the hp prime. From your video however I decided that I liked the hp prime better but there are some specific functions that I need my calculator to have. For the most part it seems that the hp prime would be a good choice for most. I would like to know if I can use the hp prime for my classes: Algebra 1 & 2, Calculus, Business and Finance, linear algebra, life science, and earth science.
This reviewer is absolutely right in his assessment. I am an older professional mechanical engineer, and recently I thought I should better refresh my rusty maths, as well as getting familiar with these newer maths tools. I bought all three (TI nspire CAS, HP Prime G2 and Casio fx CG 500) and I can confirm that HP appears way better built than the other. I actually like the TI quite a lot, especially when with all the alpha keys you can enter directly the functions and operators easily (as well as having way more tutorials and learning materials. But the overall first impression is that long term I will focus on the HP which seems to be better built and more professional (as opposed as just a school teaching device). It is still very early stages for me, and things may change.
When calculating the sum with 60k terms, the Nspire is more accurate. It appears it's slow because it's calculating symbolically, which is overkill for engineering. Anyways, still glad I got the superior HP Prime

Nice comparison. I used to be an avid HP48 user through college. I didn't do enough research and just bought the Nspire CX II CAS. I agree with you on all points. I hate going thru menus and 2nd order keys for EE, etc. Keys are tiny and cheap feeling. It's an extremely capable device, but all your points are exactly what I missed about my old HPs. The old HPs were SO SLOW...even for the day. But the input and so fast and well laid oout. I may cut my losses and get the HP and give this to my son.
Somebody should built a Rstudio mobile version or a Anaconda notebook version for mobile. There is no point in using calculator for schools nowadays all student should be maths with python or R.
I had an HP48G back in the day. Everything was done in 'reverse polish'. Eg. 100/2=5 was done by entering 100 2 divide. Is this the method of operation for the HP Prime?

The n-spire is pretty cool on the lab cradle - I guess the HP Prime doesn't go there.

I bought this one from Amazon. Now there is an issue with it. So it was dead so I decided to charge it but after sometime when I tried to turn it on its menu screen appeared which was blur and then it got switched off. I have a question for you all : in my ti-nspire cx ii - t there is a big gap between the slide case and the calculator that causes a very frustating tilting of the calculator when it is on a desktop with the slide cover on the back. Is this problem present in your model?
