Good video except case 3 violates ASME GD&T rule 1. So it would be faulty manufacturing and not designers fault.

I'm not sure yet what the difference is between traditional D&T and GD&T. If I receive a diagram with both kinds of D&T, like the one at 7:44, then why can't I use the traditional GD&T to guarantee that the parts fit and function together? Is traditional D&T more of a soft guideline or something?
