There is metal missing from in between the two halves after the rust is removed, No amount of polishing and sanding and machining can ever make them a perfect match again. So I call BS on this video. The end one is not the one he started with.

I am very curious as to the time it takes and the specific mixture of chemicals are using for the rust removal because the video makes it appear as if this is a day or two process and I suspect to achieve that level of penetration would take more than a week at least with my knowledge of how vinegar works and I'm curious as to why you're using synthetic vinegar instead of the real thing also I agree with some of the other commenters that if you were planning to epoxy two handles from the beginning finishing them to a mere polish was just extra work that you didn't need to do
