Best video on Tamron 17-50 mm
This video is 7 years old and I am still benefitting from it. Thanks Chris!
If i have budget issue the temron 17-50 vs sigma 17-50 which is better for wedding?
I find the autofocus on this lens to be slow when photographing kids, but Chris rated it as fast. That helps me calibrate what Chris means by fast autofocus in other reviews.
This lens served me well on my Canon 10D and 50D for indoor and outdoor work picturing adults. But the autofocus is a bit slow and not able to catch my fast moving toddler. So I have essentially stopped using it now.
I just got this lens, does anyone else find the zoom ring kinda stiff or is it just me? Great review btw
I was going to buy the more expensive Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM FLD Large Aperture Standard Zoom lens but after I watched this video I have decided to go with this version even though its cheaper and older but you can't beat the price for the quality! , Thanks for the review and I am a new Sub! cheers
Does is fit on a 6dmk2?
0:35 - Someone’s says this is sharper than brother with VC.
Hi Chris! Which lens would you recommend for Nikon D80, which was also released in 2006?
This Tamron 17-50, the newer Tamron 17-50 VR or the Sigma 17-50 VR?
Thanks in advance.
super lens ithanks christ god bless you
Is this better than VC version? ;)
Hi, i am very sad, tamron 17-50 2.8 does not good work on my sony a6000,
Is there any way to improve the focusing capabilities of this lens on the Sony A6000?
Thanks
As it doesn't have image stabilizer, how much problem will be there?
Hi everyone.
Can I use this lens on sony a7, if yes, which adapter will be required?
Thanks
I've always wanted to know how to get your test sheet that you use for the lenses sharpness review at certain apertures.
随分と訛ってるなぁ
Some of the subject was sharp. ☝️
FF OR DX?
Great reviews as always. Thanks for making such relevant reviews and mind blowing information unbiased. God bless you. ➕

Can confirm, this is a great lens. I use it for video with a mounted camera so I didn’t even notice the lack of VR, whoops. Haven’t done any video handheld so let’s hope my hands are steady
This lens have the Red Dot thats means about the full frame lens but isnt work on full frame lenses?Gosh
I really like this version
does the Pentax verison have the same quality
i subscribed cool channel
Man cool info
I am really in doubt (most due to my budget): Minolta 24mm f2.8 or this Tamron 17-50mm f2.8. Some say prime lens are better, but these zoom lenses inspire me.
Which do you recommend for a Nikon D80 body?
Tamron 17-50 (the one reviewed here), Tamron 17-50 VR or Sigma 17-50 VR? I'm interested in optics (sharpness, contrast, vignetting, chromatic aberrations, distortion) only. Not build quality. Thanks in advance.
I really love this atual review of this "old" lens because I'd like buy this Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 VC for my canon t6s.
Do you think the AF is slow? Can it cause problems for a photographer or videomaker?
What does the VC mean?
Is this lense compatible to my D7500 body?
Can I mount this lense on my D7500 body? I just bought this from outlet only US. $ 165, please give me some advice to a amateur likeme. Thanks
Your english is fantastic, and you , too
Do you know if this lens works with the ftz adapter?

This lens has an awesome DXO rating better than any Nikon lens, and it can make Makro until 5cm with 50mm. There is no competition with Nikon because Nikon can't deliver this sharpness for these Zoom lens. As usual Nikon lenses are B.S. or overpriced. For instance, the front ring of my 18-140mm lens from Nikon dropped off after 3 months without any reason for that. All my other gears had not any problems, for many years. B.S. Nikon quality. Don't buy Nikon or Sigma lenses, you will regret it.
Will this be okay for a Canon T3i?
Wait, wait! Surely it does have an inbuilt motor. And it's quite noisy - something to keep in mind if you do video.
Have had it for five years now, I like the super quick focus, very sharp as well, especially at longer focal distances (25mm+) and at about f8+.
Designed for apsc so there's no crop factor to keep in mind (eg, 17mm on this lens = 17mm in full frame equivalent).
Good review, thanks.
So does the sigma need a screw drive motor?
All talk all nonsense
Does this lens work on the Nikon D500
You are pretty!
Love to see a review on Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM FLD for my
Nikon DX so I can hear your opinion ! I think it's my next lens .
Nice review, it helps a lot for me being a beginner photographer. You have a new subscriber!
Hi there. Have you checked out the Sigma 17-50 mm f/2.8? If yes, which one would you say is better? People seem to lean towards the Sigma in online reviews, probably because of OS and HSM I guess. I'm getting second hand deals on both for identical prices ($200).
;))
Minor lens does have a build in focus motor. Still great review, subscribed!
Hi! does the build un motor of the Nikon d3300 work with theses lense Or will I have to manually focus?
You're good looking, so I trust what you say.
Dig your reviews helped me choose a few lenses recently, so thanks very much!
Hi, I know this might be one of the silliest question. But between the vc and non-vc versions, which one is better in term of IQ, sharpness and focus speed/consistency? Please note that I do not really need any kind of image stabilization.
Now, I am looking for used fast normal zoom for my ancient Nikon D7000. I already have Nikon D500 and Nikon 17-55 f2.8 as a main equipment. I just need cheap, decent and somewhat expendable secondary equipment for risky situation. With smaller and lighter extendable design of the Tamron, it also save me some weight and less intimidate compared to huge and heavy Nikon.
The stabilized Sigma 17-50 f2.8 seems a better choice, but NO. The zoom ring is opposite direction to Nikon lens.
does anyone know what focal length does the lens have not vignette in fullframe
Can we Use this Lens In Full frame Cameras
perfect video lens. only the focus is how you say, out of time.
Sir is it worthy have 60d and this lens in 2019? Please guide
They say older brother is sharper and better. Is it true? Thank you Chriss:))
Hi! Did you tested it with f32? I have that lens and I feel that it looses a lot of image quality in that aperture
have also this lens, very bad lens, by f2,8 are the pictures not sharp, as I put f5,6 then we can start to talk about sharp pictures. I also set up the micro adjust by 17 mm and also by 50 mm. But sharpness of the lens was not getting better. (I am only hobby photograph)
what's the difference between A Aspherical Lens and a Normal Lens?
Inexpensive? This lens goes for $650, are we looking at the same lens or did Tamron come out with a newer model that you haven't tested yet. The only more expensive lens is the Canon 17-55.
You probably don't even own this anymore, but have you tried this lens on a Canon eos m?
does it work with aps-c sized canon camera?
One thing I can say as a positive. This thing is nigh-unkillable. Mine's survived multiple serious impacts, including a 30 second tumble down some stairs, which killed the D90 it was attached to. It took multiple hits on the front element, and only has one tiny scratch.
Hi, nice video I have a nikon d3300 and i use it only for photos. My question is: is the quality of this tamron better enough of my 18-105 kit lens, or i should buy the sigma 17-50? Thanks ;)
Is this EF or EFS mount?
I gave this video a like because its cool and to remove the 666 like number to 667 on there! :)
Hi Chris, what budget lens would you recommend for wide angle wedding photos?
Sigma 17-50 2.8 OS or the Tamron 17-50 2.8 non VC?
