This lens is fantastic! Images are pretty sharp and the price you can’t beat! I used this lens for 3 shoots this weekend and happy with all the images. Great all around lens Super sharp Macros and awesome distance shots. Fast autofocus too. Well worth the money. I am now a be Tamron fan.

how is it different from - Tamron 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di-II VC HLD Wide Angle Zoom Lens for Canon APS-C ?
I bought that lens by chance after a client asked for real estate photography. I shot all photos with a crop sensor nikon and I was super happy with the results! Now its very cheap to buy!
The Nikon 10-24mm has better zoom btw. Just want to keep you up to par with your facts.

THANKS! I agree the Canon 10-18mm would be a much better idea for Video. I'm actually going to invest in a couple of adapters for my kit lens - and that has some very interesting advantages. Very interesting indeed - and at a great price for having 3 zoom ranges, wider max aperture (very curious if the big front glass will gather more light.) It has the "artsy" quality I want (someone said "surreal"). And of course the price can't be beat with a stick.

Christopher I love how whenever I find a used lens worth checking out, I find your review of it :D but I am in a bit of dilemma, I have only one lens for now, the Sigma 70-300 f4-5.6, and I want something wider. I am looking at the Canon 24mm 2.8 stm and this Tamron. I know the sharpness of the Canon is better, so is the focusing and max aperture, but on my 40D it would be a 38mm equivalent, so not wide at all. I'm wondering if the Tamron would be a better choice :) thanks
The autofocus noise is the reason I will never own this. Tamarin could have knocked this out the park, this is its biggest downfall for video uses ✅

always amazed with your review. easy to understand and soothing. not too long but keep it simple.
I have been using this lens now for about a year and a half to shoot landscape photography. Mainly beaches and sunsets and I simply cannot fault this lens. It is sharp as a tack and yesterday is slightly soft at the edges which can be fixed in post. Honestly it’s the best wide angle lens on the market. It’s also very light as well and take standard filter so seriously I will not be opening another wide angle lens as this covers everything I need and I can still use it for general photography as well. I’m using it on a Nikon D850 - Instagram svenny1970phography

Great reviews as always. How would you say this compares to other offerings, more specifically the Canon 10-22 or 10-18. I noted you weren't a big fan of the gen 1 lens which didn't score that well in the 8 lens comparison. Has this made up enough of the shortcomings to be a worthy consideration in place of the Canon lenses?

I always watch Chris' reviews before purchasing a new or used lens and after watching this video I purchased a new 10-24 for my D7200 and the VC is an absolute joy because I can leave the tripod at home for most of my photographic situations.

(Repeat question) Praise Lord the God Brother, well based on your suggestion I already got Sigma 17-50mm and it is going fine and now looking for more wide lens like Tamron 10-24; but my confusion is, what good will Tamron 10-24 sustain against sigma 17-50. should I go for the ultra wide lens or upgrade my body to Nikon 7200 against Nikon D3300 (a entry level camera). 4:45 : f3.5 not good enough for night video? I wish you could elaborate on that, another lens as comparison maybe, as I see nothing really awful in your footage. Canon's 10-18 and 10-22 has better overall review but they're f4.5* :( I need fast wide-angle lens and haven't seen any better option. * EDIT: Oops, 10-22 is f3.5. But still, Tamron's way cheaper :/ Anyway, I'm currently considering this as a first wide lens, and your review has been helpful. Thank you!

2020 here. 4K came. 5D mark 4 is still a thing. Is there a "wide crop" lens I could throw in there to run on a gimbal? For example this? You mounted in on your Canon but there's no mirror inside the C-canons is there?

save your money iv tested most dx wide angles nokon sigma tamron tokina which was actually better than most .but in all honesty for what you spend on cameras and lenses buy a d810 and youv a ton of high quality lenses i really havnt found a dx wideangle lens that toutches even cheapo fx lenses . dx and limited depth perception , kidology

I'm planning on buying a Sony A6400 - very interested in this lens! If I use it I will be using this as a 2nd lens other than the pancake kit lens, perhaps to some vlogs or music video stuff or skyline shoots - still buy it or consider the Sigma one
