Excellent review. As a result I have just ordered this lens. Been working with the 28-300mm for a few years and have become increasingly disappointed with its lack of sharpness and nasty vignetting. After purchasing the Tamron 35mm (with help from your review on this lens) I am very impressed with the overall quality of Tamron.
Can u pls review this lens on canon 90D or any canon apsc 32.5 megapixel sensor camera , I wanna see is this lens still sharp on 32.5 megapixel sensor
Hi Christopher, comparing this to the g1 is there much difference?
Can u pls check on 32.50 megapixel apsc sensor camera
Silly question here, I have the Canon EF-RF adapter, will that work for this? I currently use a Canon EOS RP.
Can you do the first version too?
Thanks bro, i have queation This lens has softness issue on 32.50 mp apsc camera ? Like 90 D,
Why u activating my Siri at 7:40 ?!
Can u pls check this lens on apsc sensor 32.5 mp camera,
For 90D which lens recomman.betweeb tamron.70-200 vs canon.70-200F4 IS USM II
Ye, can’t really go wrong with the 70-200 Tamron. Thing is insanely good for the price.
God bless you, Christopher. You literally always have a review up of whichever lens I am looking at buying lol
Would you say this is the same, better or worse than the Sony f2.8 70-200MM? That lens is almost more than twice the price. What are your thoughts?
Well I now own one, and I like it very much also own a tamron 100-400 aswell as the canon 100-400 II guess what the canon has a littlebit more faster af but otherwise, no difference
Tamron 70-210 vs tamron 70-200g2 which is more sharp?
Christian, thanks for the review. I watched it a thousand times, and did buy the lens in the end. Did you have to use the tap in console to calibrate your lens before the review? It is quite annoying that I'm having to calibrate it, as it is back and front focusing at different focal lengths. That is a little disappointing, considering that I got the sigma 17-55mm f2.8, also based on your nice review, and was very happy about it - it is very cheap, and it came already super sharp by default.
Could you please do a review for the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 sport?
Where the Best for portrait nikon 85mm 1.8g vs tamron 70-200f2.8
Hello, Do I have to Micro adjust for my EOS R And how do I do that in the lens please!
Hi Christopher, great review as usual. I own this amazing lens and I am very happy with it. To complete my kit, I am thinking about adding a portrait dedicated prime. I'd like to get more subject isolation, that "dreamy" effect I see in shots taken with specialized lenses, a shallower depth of field and smoother bokeh. I am leaning towards the Samyang 135 f2, as I have other AF lenses manual focusing would not be too much of an issue. Do you think it would be a good investment? Will the improvement be noticeable and worth dealing with MF?
Hi. Thank you for all your video review that are enjoyable to follow.
I have a question. Did you already made a review for the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 Sport?
I could not find it.
Thank you.
Have had my Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2 for two months. A fantastic lens. No regrets.
having the tripod lever on the bottom stops me from moving the focus ring.
because of this review, I bought the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2, use it on my EOS R5, fantastic thankyou Jared
Btw, can anyone give an answer to how well the lens held up over the years if use? How good was the build quality?
Haha super late comment but here I go! I've heard that you get much more sharp pictures at 200mm if you're at 4 f. So maybe the portrait would have been better with the Tamron if the f was at 4.
Shutter speed aputure settings
hi have u used this lens with the z7 using the tamron lens i have the 24-200 on my z7 but looking for a wildlife lens at the moment and thinking of using a 70-200 with 2x converter would just like to ask advice
Yeah it’s definitely not long enough the tamron and Nikon both have serious focus breathing issues. More like a 135 when focused short.
It seems to me that the Nikon seems closer in comparisons.
Ich wäre schon lange verrückt geworden mit so einer Mähne ?
Fantastic test! I just bought the 24-70mm version and am extremely pleased with it so far. I reckon this one should be next on my list.
Is tamron 70-200 G2 lens have softness issue on 32.50 mp apsc camera ? 90D, near corner
And Tamron provides a 6 year warranty.
I can concur that the sigma 17-50 mm crop lens is very good (at least for beginners). It's very sharp for the money and I still use it as my main daily driver.
excellent, just too long. But your explanation always resourceful, inspire about what i will do ir buy.
10 years warranty for the Tamron in Canada, 1 year for Nikon. Not worried about Tamron long term durability.
After 3 years, build quality of the Tamron is extremely good or better.
is it possible to used with D7200
Questions for anybody with lens (including Jared :)) - do you wish you had more reach for outdoor sports? Is a f2.8 going to server me better at 200mm for sports compared to variable aperture at 300-400mm?
I love how you shoot these reviews because you get an idea of the reach you're getting.
Focuses like Nikon not Canon What does that mean? BTW I just purchased this lens, should be arriving Monday !
What kind of strap/harness are you wearing in this video? Thank you.
Hello, great vidI couldn’t understand what meant when you said it focuses like nikon and not canon? I have always used canon so I couldn’t figure out what that meant. Thanks
Tamron 85mm 1.8 G2 is a disaster.
It suffers from something called Drunken Shift Shake (DSS) in live view.
Mine needs crazy micro adjustments. Have you used the tap in console
I like the video and thanks for you time. Where you recommends left stabilizer and focus distance?
recently bought lens superb clicks
This is not a review. It's some guy trying to be funny.
Nice video. Next week Im with hunters and want to shoot with this lens in the forrest. Which VC do you prefer? The hunters move all the time I guess
I have a Tamron 70-200 G2 (for Nikon) on the way and I have been looking at quite a few reviews on the lens. Your review was particularly good. Concise and informative, I learned some extra things on the three-mode VC control, you pegged it. Nice use of the graphics at the right places also. I subscribed.
Thank you for the chart explaining the VC modes. Really helped make it easy to figure out, I keep it on VC 3 90% of the time now! So sharp
What I do not have (and can not afford) is a long range fast lens which will allow me to shoot speakers at conferences, dancers, athletes or footballers . in evening events outside or inside. stadiums, sports halls. I have a D500 and already have my 70-300 for daylight sports events or my 180mm for other things. So, is this good for low light at 200mm.
GREAT VIDEO, BUT YOU NEED TO SLOW DOWN A LITTLE, SOME WORDS ARE NOT CLEAR
the beautiful model more expensive than lens . that why , Most of real men consider economical lens but it produce good quality image
yes my friends sent three 70-200s back wooow thats crap oh and a 24-70 but his 15-30is good il stick to nikon thanks
It's time Canon fires Ms. Takahashi (the lady who cleans the restrooms at Canon headquarters and moonlights as the Canon Director of Research and Development). It's little things that bug me about Canon like the Arca Swiss grooves that this Tamron lens has and the Canon telephoto mounts do not!
Old man talks too much
How many versions? And at what prices? Looks Like Pasadena City Hall and surroundings.
quick questions, I just purchased the lens yesterday 70-200 g2 will it be good with my D7200. Thank for your help
G2 Tamron or Canon 70-200 III?
Because this video i buy this lense
Just ordered for my D7100. Thanks
Have you tried the sigma 70-200 g2 version ? . I want to buy this lens but really confused about which one to go for, tamron or sigma ?
I was going for the nikon but here my decision had been hijacked. The Nikon might really be Not $800 better so Tamron has a point.
stunning time lapses!
Hi, I would like to buy a 70-200 mm lens and I am hesitating between this Tamron and Sigma Sport version. I saw some comparisons. They are head to head. Do you have any arguments/experiences why I should choose Tamron or why did you choose it years before? I am sure you also tested Sigma before you bought this one :-). Thanks for reply!
Very, very, very helpful! keep going.
Great photos and time lapses.I have been on the fence regarding this purchase as I want to pair it with my D610.Solid review!
Good review thanks. Agree completely about the lens cap design. I wouldn't think a company capable of building such a good lens could screw so many things up on a simple but import item like the lens cover: no profiling on the tabs, recessed tabs that are angled so that your fingers slip off them rather than squared off or inward sloping so you can find purchase on them. One other detail that is annoying on Tameron G2 lenses are the switches whose movement is aligned with the axis of the lens. It means when your are pulling them out of a bag they are far more likely to be inadvertently switched to another position. I have gotten used to checking all the switches before I start shooting, but movement rotated 90° would be a better solution. Optical qualities are for all intensive purposes as good as the native lens options for half the price. I do hope they start coming out with native Z lens soon though.
Great video, was very helpful as I'm looking to upgrade my Nikon 70-200 VR1. New subscriber here.
I wanted you to know that your review, photos and comments helped me make my decision to buy this lens recently. I purchased it two weeks ago to replace an older and even heavier Tokina 80-200 f2.8.
I also bought this lens for my D850. One of my best.
I am considering buying a slightly used version of this lens and this video, while short is great because you discuss your ownership and how the lens held up after 2 years. Thank you.
The pictures and timelapses are truly amazing, really good work!
Ordered mine last week! Looking forward to used it on D850.
Thanks to your good explanation,I decided to purchase this favor lens.
I have this lens also and it's my favourite, bokeh and sharpness is outstanding, just assume much love, nevah by the nikon this lens rocks
Perfect - good job - you help me by my decision to buy or not to buy - now I will buy it. Thank you for this video
Those are some amazing photoswow!
