Tamron 70-210 vs tamron 70-200g2 which is more sharp?
Christian, thanks for the review. I watched it a thousand times, and did buy the lens in the end. Did you have to use the tap in console to calibrate your lens before the review? It is quite annoying that I'm having to calibrate it, as it is back and front focusing at different focal lengths. That is a little disappointing, considering that I got the sigma 17-55mm f2.8, also based on your nice review, and was very happy about it - it is very cheap, and it came already super sharp by default.
Could you please do a review for the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 sport?
Where the Best for portrait nikon 85mm 1.8g vs tamron 70-200f2.8
Hello, Do I have to Micro adjust for my EOS R???? And how do I do that in the lens please??!
Hi Christopher, great review as usual. I own this amazing lens and I am very happy with it. To complete my kit, I am thinking about adding a portrait dedicated prime. I'd like to get more subject isolation, that "dreamy" effect I see in shots taken with specialized lenses, a shallower depth of field and smoother bokeh. I am leaning towards the Samyang 135 f2, as I have other AF lenses manual focusing would not be too much of an issue. Do you think it would be a good investment? Will the improvement be noticeable and worth dealing with MF?
Hi. Thank you for all your video review that are enjoyable to follow.
I have a question. Did you already made a review for the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 Sport?
I could not find it.
Do you find you have to micro adjust these lenses on the canon apsc camera? Also I am looking between the tamron or sigma range for the 24-70 and 70-200. I am doing indoor sports shooting. What would you choose. Thanks in advance.
How this lens perform on Eos R? Thanks
Sharpest telelphoto I've ever owned. This is an incredible lens for the price.
I have this and use it with my z6 and absolutely love the quality I get for especially for the price compared to any of the Nikon 70-200 I absolutely love it
Hi Chris, this is a very helpful video in true Christopher Frost style. I was wondering if you'd be willing to do a review of the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 Sport lens, or maybe even a comparison of the Tamron vs Sigma lenses. There's a definite lack of videos on YT comparing the 2 lenses?
Love the content and in depth standard test procedure that you have finessed on your channel. Cheers G.
Again a great review..... I just bought one...
70-300mm DI VC USD f4-5.6 or this one?
I am a big fan of your reviews
Indeed, Tamrom has upped the ante. Canon and Nikon should be scared really scared. This unit is almost 1/2 of the price of the Nikon version FL VR. Even Tamron's 24-70 G2 is equally stunning. The built quality of this 70-200 G2 is sublime. Get it, put it through it's paces and achieve images you're sure to cherish forever. This unit is meant to last a lifetime. Do check out the rest of Tamron's G2 line up
This lens is one of my favorite lenses I’ve ever owned!! It’s so sharp and VC is outstanding! Focus is remarkable as well.. if your on the fence about this lens, get it!! Lol it’s fantastic! Chris did a great job reviewing!:)
Crhis's channel has made me hate every other lens reviewer. They never get to the point, never have proper sharpness test, never try the lens without camera corrections....
We will be appreciated if you test sigma 70-200mm sport?
Excellent review. Shame you couldn't have persuaded that clueless pianist to practise somewhere else.
Thanks for the review. I noticed you did some low light sunset shots. I am interested in twilight shots with moving objects that may require zooming. Have you tested this lens in this way, and if so, what do you think? Thanks.
Found one for 800$ , it’s a fair price? What do you think? Thanks in advance
By the way I just purchased your Fall preset package. I am looking forward to checking it out.
Mate, I love the video, great work! Like you I once owned the Canon equivalent. I lost mine after divorce haha I have been grappling with whether to purchase the Canon series III but the reviews and the price make this almost a no brainer. But it is nice to see a professional who knows how to use it. I can really see what the lens can do. Cheers!
Hi mate ,I'm after decent tripod ,I do my shooting with Nikon D850 and same lens. I see your one is Benro but can u please write down exactly the name of the model. thank u
Hey Brent - great video, I'm gonna bit the bullet and get myself one of these! Thanks for the info.
I just got this lens for my sons little league games, what settings would you put the side switches on for best results? V 1? Full?
hey man i love this video and your channel offcourse
I just Recently bought this lens and i have a simple query relating to the tripod mount -- What is the L key is for and whats its purpose ( even when you remove the tripod mount ) ??
it would really help if can get a reply to this .
I think this is the perfect lens if you have only one.
Hello, I would like to buy this objective. Before i got first version of this Tamron and it was great. One seller told me that this Tamron has a weak construction. I need it to photo shooting of animals (tigers, wolves...) and to wildlife and dog sports. I see that you took it to nature, to outside. Are those informations about weak construction and about rapid destruction true? What is your opinion pleas? It will be very helpful for me :) Many thanks for answer and have a good light ;)
Used Nikon 70 200 VRII or new Tamron G2 ? Both sell.for 1500 in Aus
You mentioned that you had this lens in the rain. I also have this lens and I want to do street photos at night in the rain. My ? Is what kind of rain were you in a misty rain, a drizzling rain, I got to starting running rain, etc.
Your help with will be greatly appreciated..
Great Video! I have an APS-C Body (Canon 80D) and I'm struggling between the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2 which performs well even on a Crop sensor Body even though built for FF or the Sigma 50-100 f1.8 Art which is built for Crop Sensor Bodies :( It's like Decent Sharpness+Longer Reach(Crop Factor:1.5x)+Beastly IS (Tamron) vs. Extremely Sharp+Shorter but Decent Reach+No IS+Faster Opening Aperture(Sigma). Probably will not upgrade my APS-C Body in 2-3 Years. Would appreciate any advice in my situation :) Thank you very much for your time!
Thank you I really appreciate the great information
Hi Brent, I am considering this lens, Canon version with the Sigma MC-11 adapter, for my Sony.... your thoughts
I tried that on a 5D MK3 and the shots were AMAZiNG!
I just bought mine last week. Wanted the new Sigma but not available here in Australia yet.
Anyway awesome lens, i'm very happy for the price of $1699 which I picked up on sale.
Very good. Thank you!
would you still get this lens in 2021? canon v2 at $800 vs tamron g2 at $1300??
You Are the man of my started year :) I was looking on this comparaison for so long. Be safe Hope you doing good ! keep going
Please add IS test!
Hi, i want to buy canon 09d anf this tamron lens being normal photographer. So it is good for me ?
Thank You Thank You So Much I Realised more😀❤️ Love from India
Great video. Thanks Scott!
This is a good review simple and straight to the point.... Thanks.
this video which i was looking for past 7 days to compare Tamron lense with major brand!! Great video ... thanks!!
My friend and imgs.love/Tamron70?Ѐㄱ I would never spend the crazy amounts for the Nikon or Cannon lenses, so this price was the only option for me. Since she’s received it, she has taken some amazing photos of birds, confirmed that the auto focus works well, and the macro zoom is something she’s always playing with and loves. This lens is an A+ for us.
Fantastic. Best video ever.
Tamron is really good and 97% performance compared to nikon counter part..this all because of nikon's camera auto correction on capture.. In case of canon its different.. Better off canon lenses for canon cameras..
Thanks Scott. Very informative to a relative newcomer to photography as myself. Thanks again.
So the Canon is better, but not hundreds of dollars worth better. Also, since my 24-70 2.8 is also a Tamron, the controls on the Tamron 70-200 will be the same for me, rather than turning in opposite directions.
Short and Precise!
Awesome Feedback. Thanks for sharing...
i am confused .. which lens should i buy 24-70 or 7-200 for my street photography , portraits and events ?
I was purchasing this already but subbing for Japan representation (Okinawa here).
Just found you Scott! great content! I am also a YouTuber I have 4,300 subs. where are you from?
I replaced my Canon 70-200 f2.8 non IS with the Tamron G2 and I love it.
Anyone who says the Tamron cannot produce professional images like the Canon isn't a professional or they cannot use a camera/lens competently.
I have the Tamron it's lovely. It does back focus a little but for wildlife it makes no difference just static subjects.. lovely lens. I use it on a d850. I would imagine it's brilliant on any body. It was fantastic on my D7200. No doubt the canon lens is brilliant.
Ditto's on all the compliments for your video..
As always, keep up the good work and keep'em flying.
Love your reviews Rich! What a gift to the photog community! I would love to know which you would choose between this exact G2 lens and the (1st) version of the Canon. I found them both for sale for the same price in my area and am having a very hard time determining which I should buy.
Sigma sport one ore tamron g2 ore canon 2?
How is it working now? Is the sharpness still remain the same? Please resonse.
I love mine, it's my GO-TO Rodeo lens.
Great comparison with good details. Your vlogs are a must before buying .
You should leave the comparison shots up longer, most are up for 2-3 seconds, just enough time for us to see which one is which and then it cuts away. Yes I know we can pause it but do we really need to see you talking when you could just leave them up longer?
The Tameron is obviously better. If you are on a budget get the canon. Stronger performance at 200mm. Silky smooth along the frame. Nikon and both Canon failed. I wanted a real world comparison. The only one online who calls it how it is in comparisons. Is the Angry photographer. Lens drop.
The G2 is an excellent lense and works great with the sigma MC-11 adapter on Sony bodies.
Bougt the Tamron today, waited a long time to save bucks and get it for less money. On my 6d ii it feels like a new love...
Hi sie gehen immer sehr ins Detail das finde ich spannend , und sehr informativ , DANKE!!
I dont know if you will read this but ill just try and hope :-) But i am looking exactly at this choice now in 2020. Either the "new" g2 or a used IS II .. at the same price as the Tamron "new". The Canon lense is about 4y old but in good shape and ... i am really really struggling in terms of paying money (we are talking about roughly 1200$ US (actually swiss franc but its mostly 1:1 to usd) )... i have a 70-300 f4-5.6 and its a greate lense from cannon but... for anything "fast" it struggles and i got asked often to shoot some events (im a hobbyist) - The new IS III costs 1900$ which is a bit steep and without the second hand market putting good IS II lenses at Tamrons G2 price level (from the store) .... i just dont know.
Obviously warranty isnt there anymore with the Canon one while Tamron has 10 years... It is really hard for me to decide... your last words nudged me towards tamron as eventhough there are differences - they are on a very high level of quality.... But if you had the option to either get a used IS II or a "new" G2 for the same price, which would you pick? - as a hobby photographer and not someone that earns money with photography.
But at any rate: a really greate review - you must have spent hundreds of hours lugging all those lenses around to get to this conclusion and i love that you spotted things other reviewers didnt spot because they only plonked the lenses down in their lab. Maybe because of that - its so hard for me to decide :-D Really good work!
Deciding between this lens and the sigma 70-200. Which should I get? I have an eos R
Just bought the Tamron 24 to 70 g2 to pair with my 5d mark iv. I notice that the lens focuses almost perfectly when using the center focus point but almost always misses focus when I use any other focus point. I know its not the optics because when I focus using the back of the screen any point I choose is super sharp. Only have this issue when shooting through the optical viewfinder. Did you run into this issue Dustin? Any suggestions?
Does viltrox speed booster work with this lens?
Which one is best between CANON EF 70-200MM F/2.8L IS III USM and Tamron that you mention. I am so confused. Please help me out to buy good lens.
Best on YT reviews ... the reference point for lens reviews.
Thank you for you content. Your reviews are the most complete I have ever found on YouTube. I am glad I have found your channel!
LOL, it amazing what it's done to defend the main brands... LOL!
If you are on a budget OR NOT get a Tamron... they are an amazing product and the G2 has had every single fanboy of the main brands downplaying this lens because and as always happen, the differences of this lens to the Canon and what they consider "flaws or quirks", for the real world situations are not even noticeable and to top it off you save HUNDREDS!... contrast in the Tamron and sharpness is EXPONENTIALLY WAY better than Canon don't get fooled... go to your local camera shop slap one on your favorite camera body be that APS-C or Full-Frame, take a shot, do the same with the Canon and ... no "detailed final reviews" of chroma or micro-contrast or the infamous focus breathing are going to be necessary, Tamron will blow your mind NO MATTER WHAT BUDGET YOU HAVE.
My 2 1/64 cents.
Watched again. Thank you sir. Tamron it is.
