I got this Sp 35 1.4 with Eos RP for 5 months. High image quality but got Error 01 on my cam often!! Especially in AI SERVO on. Do anyone have the same problem??

Hello, great review! However, I still can't get what's the advantage over the 35/F1.8 Di VC USD when the actual 1.4f causes such vignetting, distortion lack of VC AND it's around $150 more expensive? (maybe I'm dumb, lol)
well i want a good camera that's full frame one that takes great pictures and video. i was told to buy this camera so i want to know a lot about this camera. i want to buy the tamron 24-70 and the tamron 35-150. you said it's only good for taking pictures and not for shooting video. well please tell me a good full frame camera please so i can check it out.
If it doesn’t say VC on the label, wouldn’t one naturally conclude that it doesn’t have image stabilization?
I shoot with this lens on Nikon Z6 and can tell you it's just magical.
Hey Chris which would you recommend out of these 3 you tested as well as the rf35mm f1.8 for the best chromatic aberration performance? I don't want to deal with too many corrections in Lightroom and want the cleanest image when shooting outdoor..
You should set the rear thumb button for AF, and remove the half press, that alone was huge in improving my photography. Now I can use Ai servo on moving target and also fixed ones and center then recompose then shot, it's a learning curve but this alone increased a lot the number of useable shots, those are either perfect focus or just about, because in the past there were a lot that were far away out of focus.
Which is better if in your opinion the 35MM Tamron 1.4 or 35MM Tamron 1.8 Thanks for your thoughts

Biggest reason why i bought this lens is because the Sigma's focus is just as bad as it gets. Have had 2 Sigma 35's that both did not focus properly.

I bought Tamron 35mm f1.4 Nikon mount this January and I'm absolutely loving it. It's tac sharp at f/1.4 and focuses quickly without making any noise. Love it!
I decided to rent out this lens because of this amazing review Julia! However I don't think my focus point was able to keep focus while me and my model were moving around. I shot on a fairly windy day at the beach too and I'd say the ratio between photos in focus to out of focus was 50/50. Not that good. I don't know if this is just a faulty lens. I was shooting at f/1.4 practically the whole time to compensate for how bright it was around golden hour and my shutter was always high to capture movement (especially since it was pretty windy). My focal point is one point in the dead center of the screen. I'm not sure if I got a faulty lens or I need even more of a steady hand or what is wrong.

Just bought the Tamron. Found a good price from an authorized dealer for $700USD. I thought the Nifty Fifty was the best bang for your buck but I now feel that this Tamron is an even better bargain.

Have they fixed the issue with the Tamron lenses? I really want to get the Tamron 1.4 for my R6 body. Does it work fine taking pictures and video other than its just not stabilized. Or should I just get the Sigma ?
Between the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 and the Tamron 35mm 1.4 which of them is the Sharpest and gives the best contrast???

Love your videos, I use the Canon 35 f/2.0 IS and really enjoy the sharp images taken at slow shutter speeds with IS, I don't have to bump up the ISO to get hand hold-able images. On the other hand, I love the look of f/1.4 and yes I think 1 f/stop makes a difference and this video reveals the quaility to the Tamron 35 f/1.4 @ f/1.4. Before buying my Canon lens I tried out a used Sigma 35 f/1.4 and it had issues with back focus and I was told in the store that that is typical of Sigma but the Tamron seems much better in this regard. Thank You!

Thank you for your reviews! You touch on all the points I am interested in. I prefer the Canon for its 3d pop, the micro contrast on this lens is unmatched by any 35mm lens out there. Tamron does represent a good value, but I would rather save up for the Canon. Just hope Canon releases a 35mm 1.2 soon on their RF mount.
Getting a green cast in the Tamron. Don't forget copy variation. You only have the one lens.
You said that the Canon is sharper, but many other reviews say the opposite. Did you calibrate the Tamron with the Tamron Tap-in Console and did you update the lens firmware? Probably not, so I suggest you do that first and do the review all over again.
I guess you need to AF finetuning of the Tamron using a tap-in console if you did not do that. After that it is going to be fair to compare the sharpness to a native lens.
idk, but the colors on my screen look very off. sometimes there is way too much blue, even in the highlights in her eyes and in the background. are these obvious differences in colour caused by the lens or are they edited very differently? did u use orange teal filter?
Bro excellent vid. I am in the market for a 35mm. Did you try the canon MKI? Especially with the R? Can get the canon version MKI used at the same price point as the tamron new but don't know if it is a wise option taking into account we got this tamron. Heard that this MKI is dreammy and has a proper own look to it. So not sure really. I know it is a more softer than the tamron.

Maybe focusing issues or your tamron lens is defective. Lens rentals compared both lenses and the tamron clearly outperforms the canon optically. My copy of the tamron is much better than your samples.
I have the tamron 35mm 1.4 nikon mount, and I can tell you that the tamron is phenom. Resolution, flare control, fast and accurate focusing, microcntrast etc. The tamron is up there with the very best. My copy of this Tamron is as sharp it gets.

I’m a RP user, I got a reaaaally good price on a EF 24-70 f2.8 II (literally brand new) but, I’m a portrait, beach and boudoir photographer so, zoom lens isn’t like the best option... I prefer the quality and look of prime lenses! I’m wanting to sell my 24-70 and buy a Tamron 35mm f1.4 SP and a Sigma 85mm f1.4 ART for my RP. I know it’s more money, but, what would you do? Sorry if my English isn’t awesome lol, it’s not my primarily language

I love the look of the Tamron. Sometimes I think the ability of a lens to be tack sharp is a little bit much. Especially in a portrait. Great on a car or something industrial, but I like a softer feel in a portrait. The difference in the flare is crazy.
When a third party lens is this good, at this price point, it does an amazing thing: It raises the bar so so high for native lenses, both in terms price and quality. And that’s what Tamron has done here. I chose it over the superb 35mm 1.8S lens.
Great review Marcus - appreciate that you DO take in to account how much personal taste is involved in choosing the right tool for you. Like, why choose a lens that someone else says is the best, but that doesn't speak to YOU? One thing is that Canon L is also 5 years old (2015), whereas Tamron just came out last year, so that's a good gap in which a) Tamron has had time to update their optics, and b) I've gotten 4+ extra years of use from my Canon L and made images that I would never have been able to make on the Tamron, simply because it didn't exist. There's a big price difference but for me that difference has been more than made up the last 5 years :)
I use this Tamron with the Z6. For 25 mega pixels it’s enough sharp. Absolutely love how bokeh renders. It speaks to you... proper storytelling lens
