Did you try putting any circular filters on the lens? I’m wondering if you can stack filters without vignetting.
is the lens better than the canon 24-70 L 2nd version?
At 2:46 where the dirt come from?
How good is the weather sealing actually? Can it survive shooting in rain without problems or damage to the lens? I found online that it is weather sealed but I’m not sure if it is fully true due to the extending design
What a name. Maybe they need Deed Poll
The only reliable lens review channel. Thanks Christopher.
Hey I herd you also have to multiply your aperture by 1.6 also is this true???
The Canon is still better optically even without IS.
I have a Nikon D5200 camera. Wanted to upgrade my camera with a new lens.
Which one to go for Tamron 17 - 50mm 2.8 or Tamron 24-70 2.8?
Your opinion will be valuable.
Chris will this lens for the Nikon D3
Warning to all who use Canon DPAF for video. This lens pumps focus back and forth when hunting for focus. Very noticeable. Canon lenses do not do this.
I have been debating between this tamron 24 70 f2.8 G2 and the canon version 24 70 f2.8 L II . For a hobbyist, which one is better?
First review I've seen where the opening shot is the lens itself. Kind of amazing! Appreciate the notes on focus breathing for video etc.
I've got this 18-400mm tamron lens and it's another vey good lens:
if you don't want to switch lens (or you can't because you are travelling) this is the right solution.
I have this lens. It's overall fantastic! I use it on the Canon RP, and 77D.
Hi, congratulations for your very comprehensive and professional presentation. the photographic visions of your photos are very descriptive especially in different focal lengths with the front and back focus scheme. Regard and tank you.Modesto
how does it compare with the previous version in terms of sharpness
what is your recommendation , the orginal old version lens or G2 vertion is best? i find the old version lens on ebay 350$ and , i don’t invest more money for my nikon d5500 ....
Hi there.. What about the calibration? I still cant calibrate this lens with my Nikon D750 so i can have great pictures with it . Any tips ?
Very well described. Thanks a lot. I felt that it performs much better in large fstop.
Tamron or Canon? Which 24-70mm f/2.8 lens won the battle according to you?
कृपया निकॉन के लिए टेमरॉन के 2.8 लेंस के बारे में जानकारी दीजिए
2.8 per tamaron doesn't match canon
Tamron seems to be much better value for money
Sir17-70 sigma ke bare bataye plese
This is a biased review, canon is best in every aspect
Tamron is good my viwes
Tamron appears to be slightly better but with the price difference tamron is the automatic choice. What about tamron 28-75 f2.8 for canon. Is the quality as good as the 24-70?
As 18-35 lens in not available anywhere,Can i use 24-70 lens instead of 18-35 lens??
Should i buy tamron 35mm 1.4 or tamron 24-70 mm 2.8 i hve canon rp,,,,,
Mai Tamron ka lens lena pasand karunga...
yea of course tamron is great and better indeed and thanks for having a nautral approach buddy

Some page web that i can get it?
I want it. I have also seen the "international" version... other than not having the warranty, is there any other difference? I'd like to know because I've found it for $900 bucks.
is the Tamron 24-70 2.8 G2 compatible with FTZ out of the box at this point or does it still require a firmware update with Tamron's Tap-in Console?
Is this lens good for canon r6?
tf was the wind tunnel test?
Smell test for lenses? Who'da thunk it?
i want a nice lens for taking group shots so you said it's better for me to get 24-70
I really like your suggestion that the two Tamron lenses for the price of the Nikkor lens is a better use of resources.
Have you tried this lens on a Nikon Z body? I can’t decide between this and the Z 24 -70 f2.8. The Nikon one is much more expensive, but worth it? Much better than this one? I could buy a couple of light modifiers of the price difference!
why did tamron stop making this lens for the Sony E mount?????
I would like to pair at as follows: Canon EOS M6 MII (34 Mp APSC) with this Tamrons SP 24-70 mm f/2.8 DiVC USD G2. Reason is I am used to EOS M6 MII for it's size, portability, image quality, and interface (and it got golden award DP Review site).
The only thing is that I wish to keep my camera and get a sharper glass.
Did anyone try this combo?
I appreciate your answer.
I have spent days, weeks, months, trying to Tamron Tap-In Console this Lens in and its still not consistent!!! Hate it!!! Wish I could sell it!!! Willing to lose money to get a Nikon Lenses at this point!!!
Wind tunnel test. Thats my FAV PART
Realistically, the G2 line images are equally excellent with their more expensive rivals. What sets the Nikon equivalent are the focus breathing and AF speed. The G2's is just a slight slower in locking up. Agreed, for the money, the G2's are the equipment to go for now
Why do people say prime lenses give image more pop then zoom lenses?
You are so high in all your videos!!!
I love this lens. Sadly, the first copy I got had a very bad case of misfocus. I ended up having to get a replacement from the shop where I bought it. Another thing, constantly have to be at f4.5 if I really want a super sharp image. The autofocus also isn’t always on target, even with the replacement that I got. It would miss 30-40% of the time, even after doing micro adjust via tap-in console. But overall, it fits the bill.
I love my Tamron 24x70 2.8 G2! Couldn't live without it!
I just got this may the trinity set. Start. Damnnnn what a tank
You helped me decide all my purchase. I bought this lens after warching your video.
Greetings from Victoria Canada! I’m about to get this Tamron!! With you’re exceptional analysis and seamless dialogue; it solidified my decision to acquire one! Thanks Dustin! Top shelf channel!
Wonderful review. I have this lens as well as it's bigger brother, the 70-200 2.8 G2 in use on my Nikon D750. I an not professional and admittedly have a lot to learn. Photos taken with the 70-200 G2 rarely disappoint, but cannot help but feel like the 24-70 G2 lens isn't living up to the bigger lens. The photos just seem to strike me very bland and cold. I rarely feel like I captured something special with this lens.
Last year we bought the lens mainly because of your review.
And we are very happy with the lens on our Nikon Z6II as well.
Thank you, Dustin! Very comprehensive review and helpful. My dream is to buy a Canon lens, but the reality is that I need something within budget that doesn’t sacrifice quality. You’ve definitely helped me consider Tamron as a viable option. Thank you again!
Thank you for this very informative review! It is just what I was looking for 🙂
I have this lens now too. Unfortunately, not everything is made for Nikon FX, such as the Sigma Art 24-70 and the Tokina 24-70, but it is for Canon. I find that very strange and annoying. Still, I'm going to enjoy this Tamron lens. Although my prime lenses are of course sharper. Thank you for your video.
Just watched this review and it is superb. I couldn't ask for more your detail blew me away.
Is this lens good to buy with eos r6?
I have this lens on my Nikon D810 as well as the 35mm f/1.4, 15-30mm f/2.8 and the 70-200mm f/2.8, all G2 lenses. All extremely good lenses. Better performance than the original Nikon lenses. I also updated the lens firmware to version 2 for all these lenses, using the Tamron Tap-in-Console. HOWEVER: You MUST do Af fine-tune on the camera in order to get the perfect sharpness. The sharpness may be OFF a few numbers, but if the lens is front- or back-focusing it is doing this consistently, so its easy to correct.
The latest 35mm f/1.4 is slightly better as far as contrast is concerned and of course the f/1.4 gives a perfect bokeh. The sharpness of all 4 lenses is also extremely good wide open. The VC on the Tamron lenses is better than most lenses, much better than most Nikon lenses anyway. I miss the VC on the 35mm though, but it doesn't effect the image quality. A good zoom lens like the one you reviewed is not necessarily of a lesser quality than a prime lens. I can tell, because I have tested them all extensively.
Seriously man, you are awesome. Your reviews are so detailed and accurate. Thanks so much! I think that this is the lens that I need.

Is this lense compatible with nikon D5300?
Thank you so much for this detailed review.
I am planning to buy this lens for my Nikon D750 body. Can you please after two and a half years how is that lens is behaving? or how durable is it?
Awesome Review, this is my main go to full frame/canon lens, couldn't agree more on how good it really is. I just hope the AF will hold up with my preordered R6? hopefully no hiccups.
very nice job! thanks from Ukraine :)
question, why did tamron stop making this g2 lens for the Sony E mount?
Dustin thank you. What a great review. You have so much knowledge and present beautifully.
