It`s strange that I have this lens in my collection and it`s nowhere near as inferior as you describe. If anyone is on a budget and wants a good telephoto, go and buy it. It`s a great piece of kit. No telephoto lens is as good as a prime (fixed focal length) lens, so don`t expect it to be.
This lens works wonderful for me and I had purchased it used. Fast, No stiffness, not noisy like this one he’s reviewing at all. I have a few shots on Getty Images.I purchased it used from Adorama (condition E) for a Canon camera, been shopping them years very reputable. Take reviews with a grain of salt!

You have no idea how GRATEFUL I am for your video. I've got the same lens and I am still a beginner when it comes to SLR photography. I tried so many settings and all of my photos look weird as hell and unsharp when I zoom in (the photos even look terrible when I use a tripod). I really thought I was too stupid to photograph with my SLR camera, which is a Canon EOS 600d btw. But now I know the problem could be the lens. Sometimes I get pretty sharp photos but it's nerve-wrecking to get there, for when I shoot like 100 photos I can only use like 5 of them and I have to delete the rest, for they look terrible. I am saving up for a Sigma 100 - 400 mm lens now and when I got this one I will sell this crappy Tamron lens on ebay. I have enough of it -.-
I have this lens, and to be honest I never use it. It's in general a horrible experience. Would not recommend it even as cheap as it is.

sir, can u have a tutorial on how to clean lens on this tamron? i have the same tamron u had, their is some fungus on the front lens when I getting out the front lens their is a fungus inside at the back of the lens,and it is hard to open the back lens.their is two lenses the fron and the back and the fungus are inside the back lens. what tools to open the back lens sir? Have the lens, it's great for the $110 price, but overall is a joke of a lens in comparison to slightly more pricey lenses. Please watch more videos on this (perhaps Christopher Frost Photography has the best honest review) before you jump to buying. It is actually good for close shots, macro shots are also good, but there are absolutely unacceptable issues with it if you're trying to be an automotive photographer as I am, or are going to shooting at a distance. If you've yet to buy a camera body, I recommend looking for a bundle with this lens as I did. On a scale from 1-10 forgetting the low price, it's a 3. All things considered, (including price), it's a 6 and only because of the price.

very good, honest review. I have a question as I just purchased this used and as you mentioned in the video, it is a super cheap lens.. I shoot a Canon Rebel t5i and got this primarily for a step up macro lens, that is going to be 95% of what I use this lens for. I do a ton of wildlife and landscape photography ( probably landscape will be the other 5% of this lens purpose) and currently have a Sigma 150-500mm super telephoto lens which I love.. but, for my current macro set up I went super cheap because I didn't know if I would like it and didn't want to invest a ton of money.. so, I purchased some cheap close up lens filters that screw onto my Canon EF-S kit lens (18-55mm) and onto my Canon EF-S 55-250mm lens but I am finding some issues. First off I get super soft photos , really bad depth of field ( even after adjusting my aperture to f11 or higher) and some hazing or fogging affects... another issue is that with my current cheap set up, I have to literally be right on top of the insects to get a decent photo but , obviously, I scare off 90% of my subjects because they don't like having a lens shoved in their faces....lol.. so, seeing how I only want to use this as a macro lens , do you think this will suit my needs? I am just a hobbyist so I am not expecting National Geographic quality images..

Purchased it used for 70$ I love it so far have gotten some beautiful shots on my older D3300 even.
I just bought m50 and lenses/ accessories set. If I upgrade full frame mirrorless canon rp I get ef sigma is 18-300mm. The efs 55-250mm is not good for full frame dsrl only apsc or crop cameras, so is efs 18-135mm is. Full frame- ef 24-105mm is stm and sigma...a great pair. Apsc or mirrorless- ef 24-105mm is stm and ef 70-300mm is. Usually recommend stick to crop lenses though for apsc cameras.
