I agree with KONJUNTO. You really nailed it with the mid range explanation/demonstration. The difference was so clear once you cut the mids and boosted the gain. Excellent demonstration, because it demonstrably showed how one setting (for solo playing) was less than ideal and the corrected setting was near perfect from the same guitar. I just bought (on Ebay) but won't receive until Monday, the GN93CE. It has a mid contour button which, after having listened to you play, will most likely come in quite handy. It's also the Nex body shape, vs the dreadnought shape of the GD30CE, and it has laminated black walnut sides and a laminated black walnut/maple 3-piece back. But it's very similar to the guitar you played. I'm really looking forward to getting/playing it. (As an aside, for folks starting out, such as myself (even though I've played around at guitar for over 45 years), I've been finding it helpful to play through an amp because everything is different when the guitar is amped, vs just playing on the couch. I even got a customized hat that says: "It sounded better in my living room".) Cheers. And thanks.

You are the first person I have ever heard say to set all three settings at 12 then to cut the Mids and up the Gain. It did make the sound clearer and fuller to my ears, huge difference in my opinion I have this exact model and I am going to try your recommendation. 'Wow" Thank you very much.

no good I do not suggest this guitar. Check seagull s6 original. Also cheap takamine models are made in china even cheaper seagulls (godin) are made in Canada.
Wonderful build and sounding guitar. I live in Sweden, but thanks to your review on Takamine P4DC i did by that model, and man how glad I am that i did! What a beautiful balanced tone and sound. Thank you for all your great reviews on Takamine guitars. People don't know what they are missing out when they look down on this fantastic brand and quality guitars! They are truly wonderfully priced, and the quality you get for the money is unbeatable! : ) What Darrin Nunyah is saying are true, I totaly agree with you, just like this other gentlemen did in their respons to what you said about your experience!

Just got one and broke up with my girlfriend. Damn, I got nothing but time now to spend time with my new Takamine. It sounds so fucking good! I have a yamaha dreadnought a martin mini and ibanez acoustic/electric and this one just sounds likes it in your ear compared to the others, To me it's like riding in a really fast car hauling ass. I plug it into my fender champ amp and pure adrenaline from the tones and crisp clear chords sound.

Sweet sound
I got the GD30 NAT, it sounds amazing and all but it has many flaws in craftsmanship. The frets have all wrong radiuses and are not flush with the fretboard. The frets are not even and cause fret bus on 14th+ frets, this also makes properly intonating the guitar impossible. The tuners are very grindy and stick, but they do hold tuning somewhat well, i recommend retightening the tuner nuts, because they are all loose. Another problem I noticed, which might be my guitar specific is the two saddle pieces are smaller than the holes in the bridge, and it has slack. Also there are slight cosmetic errors, like bad lacquer job and chipped fretboard. I also noticed the wrong fret radius on my Takamine GD20. So beaware the cheap takamines might sound nice but they might end up costing a lot more to fix the issues later on.
