Stagg DH-CH18B 18 Inch China Cymbal Reviews from YouTube

Stagg 18" SH vs. 18" DH China Cymbal Soundcheck
Stagg 16" DH China - Demo with mics - James chapman
Stagg 18" Myra Power china - demo with mics - James Chapman
Stagg Cymbals - SH, DH and SENSA series comparison - Demo with mics - James Chapman
I have bith and both sound Just great.
Wow! They're identical!
dh for china, sh for a ride. my choice. DH cuts way better, its darker and more trashy, less ringy at the end dry, nice:)
i have one(DH) and its the right sound for me. awesome B20 china cymbal.
is the one on the right the stagg?
For china cymbal, Stagg DH always be my mainstay
I have a DH 19", it sounds freaking incredible! Blows away the Zildjian Oriental and Sabian AAXs!
Both sound absolutely amazing! I think I would rather get the DH though, a lot more sizzly
♥.♥
They are both awesome but since I like a brighter cymbal I'd go with SH
DH win
I have the DH, fucking rocks! Sounds epic and i love it. Sounds even better in recordings!
I have the DH it is the TITS!
it depends on if you want a brighter or darker sound
@clanofhyrule Nope there´s nothing better than a 18" Oriental China Trash! The 19" Hybrid china is also an amazing china! But Stagg chinas are also really nice sounding chinas, i had a 12" DH china but it broke.
holy shit these things sound better than zildjian oriental chinas! but do they hold up well? do they break easily/
If you want a "chinese" cymbal it makes sense to get 1 made in china, these are the proof
Wow, i'm not generally a china guy but these sound great, at least the equal of there much more expensive counterparts
@maurerdrums Actually DH sounds more trashy than SH. SH sounds washy and DH sounds trashy.
my sh broke after 2 months should i try a dh it's sounds better but will it last long and im not hitting the cymbal wrong or to hard
Alright dude Im looking for a china cymbal for my mesh head "silent cymbal" kit have you got any suggestions i was considering buying a cheap wuhan or stagg and drilling the ever loving fuck out of it because all the "mute" china cymbals look to thick and not trashy enough
Halo brother. I wanna ask about stagg cymbal. China stagg SH and DH, which better.? I still confused hehe thanks before
Wow what can I say but. Great video James. Can I be a geek and ask what cymbals you are using from l-r in this video please? Thank you
Hey James! Nice demo . i'm interested in size and type of the smaller Chinas in the middle . right above the toms!?
Thanks dude, just managed to get myself a 16 Stagg, was told it was a nice sound by a friend and this proves it, shall be having much fun with it, thanks for the demo :) Totally metal sound \m/
Awesome!
Is that stockholm syndrome? LOL
Pure rock and roll song
So I have my 18" for less then 1 week. It isn't set up tight at all and I haven't even played a lot metal beats on it. Now there is a crack in it :'(
What is the name of the last song in this vid ?
Do you know where I can find this backing track separately?
i own an 18" dh stagg china, it sounds rougher and has a hell of a punch.
Yo, brottah:) Cymbals Stagg in the Area  and eShop choice on Porcupine Tree! Love the technical aspects of the drumming in The Sound of Muzak. Question, would you say mixing cymbals of different brands is a smart idea or would it just depend on the situation at hand?
Just ordered it! I'm also looking for a decent x-hat for heavy stuff if you have any recommendations? Thanks
Hey James, what song is that at the very end your playing along to? Super heavy!
I'm a fairly new drummer or i should say getting back into it. Finally got a nice Tama kit and i got the Zildjian A custom cymbal kit. I'm wishing i knew about these cymbals 4 weeks ago. I just ordered the Stagg DH Dual-Hammered Exo Medium Thin Crash Cymbal 17 in. I can't wait to play it. Thanks for these videos and you are one hell of a great drummer.
Can someone please tell me which line are Stagg's highend cymbals? Thanks
Sound of muzak! And also nice cymbals :)
Just wanted to thank you +James Chapman for introducing me to stagg cymbals! I have an 18" an 16" Rock crash in a brilliant Finnish and they are great!
ooohh that ride and the right crash cymbal sound sweet too!
nice vid, I'm in need of a bigger china so I might pick one up come new year! is that a sensa crash to it's left at 3:25 too? sounds mint.
Those SH hi hats were very good
I can' t believe they' re made of B20 alloyy
Awesome video! Really clear sound. I quit playing drums a long time ago, but now I want to come back and I need to buy a full set of new cymbals. I'm not a professional but I just want to get a nice sound for rehearsals, practicing and something else and I was looking for some intermedium and versatile sound. There are a lots of brands out there and i checked out the Paiste PST7 series or Stagg DH series. Do You recommend me these ones over the pst7? I've looked all your videos testing them and they sound really amazing. It's just I don't trust the brand too much as Zildjian, Sabían or Paiste. What do you think?
What mics have you used?
I've always thought of stagg as a cheap/beginner brand but they actually sound pretty good not gonna lie
1:35 SH Crash's 2:35 DH crash's 3:35 Sensa Crash's
Stangg sh Very good
i like the dh sound the best
Awesome Demo of these 3 line by Stagg. Makes it easier to understand what the differences are between them all. Nicely Done!
Great comparison! This really helps with my decision on series.
HELLO GUYS AND GIRLS, I HOPE SOME OF YOU AWESOME DRUMMERS CAN HELP ME, AND EVEN THE NOT SO AWESOME, BUT SUPER PERFECT DRUMMERS CAN HELP ME. AND HOW ABOUT THE CRAPPY DRUMMERS LIKE ME? CAN YOU HELP AS WELL? HAHAHAHA. I AM SO SORRY IF THIS GETS TO BE A LONG LETTER. I GET CARRIED AWAY ONCE IN A WHILE .LOL. I GET FIRED UP WHEN IT COMES TO DRUMS. THANKS FOR HOPEFULLY UNDERSTANDING. COULD ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME AND GIVE ME YOUR OPINIONS ON THESE STAGG CYMBALS? I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY OF YOUR HELP AND ADVICE. ALSO, HOW ARE THESE CYMBALS COMPARED TO ZILDJIAN, MEINLE, SABIAN, ETC? I PROMISE TO RESPECT YOUR ADVICE , AND I PRAY THAT OTHERS WILL DO THE SAME. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MYSELF, AND THEN YOU CAN SEE WHAT ADVICE I CAN USE ACCORDING TO WHAT CYMBALS I HAVE PLAYED, AND NOW USE. YOU MIGHT THINK I'M NUTS, LOL, BUT MOST DRUMMERS ARE, IN MY OPINION. HAHAHA. EVERYTIME I TALK DRUMS, I LOVE TALKING ABOUT WHAT GEAR PEOPLE USE, AND HOW THEY SET THEIR DRUMS UP, AND WHAT STYLES PEOPLE LIKE TO USE WHEN THEY CREATE THEIR DRUM SOUNDS. THIS IS GLEN POLEN. I HOPE ALL OF YOU ARE ROCKIN' YOUR BUTTS OFF. LOL. I ALSO REALLY HOPE THAT YOU FOLKS ARE USING GOOD CONTROL, AND HAVING PROPER TECHNIQUES. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR POSTURE IS CORRECT AND RIGHT ON TO PREVENT ACHES AND PAINS LATER IN LIFE. EVEN IF WE PLAY WITH PERFECTION, WE CAN STILL DEVELOP HEALTH ISSUES, SO THEIR ARE NO GUARANTEES, LIKE ANYTHING ELSE IN LIFE. I HATE WATCHING A DRUMMER PLAY WITH POOR CONTROL AND SEEING THEIR TECHNIQUES LACK QUALITY. SOME DRUMMERS CAN FLY 500 MPH AROUND THEIR KITS, AND PLAY DBLE BASS PATTERNS FASTER THAN A BARRACUDA, BUT THEY HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT THEY ARE PLAYING BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ MUSIC, DIDN'T LEARN THE BASICS, OR HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO HOLD AND GRIP THE STICKS PROPERLY. I AM NOT TRYING TO INSULT ANYONE, I ONLY WANT TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO GET THAT HELP NOW WHILE THEY CAN AND BEFORE ANY ISSUES OCCUR. US DRUMMERS CAN AND WILL HAVE HEALTH ISSUES LATER IN LIFE BECAUSE OF POOR POSTURE . I CARE ABOUT YOU . I WANT ALL OF US TO SUCCEED IN LIFE. I HAVE BEEN DRUMMING FOR 46 YEARS. I USED TO TEACH DRUM LINES AT SEVERAL HIGH SCHOOLS FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS. THE SAME GOES FOR TEACHING PRIVATE LESSONS, AND I PLAYED IN MANY BANDS OVER THE SPAN OF 30 YEARS. I LEARNED A LOT ABOUT DRUMS EARLY IN LIFE, INCLUDING TAKING PRIVATE LESSONS, PRACTICING FOR AN HOUR EVERYDAY AFTER SCHOOL AND WATCHING AND LISTENING TO OTHER DRUMMERS. MY HIGH SCHOOL DRUM LINE INSTRUCTORS TAUGHT ME WELL. I LEARNED MORE ABOUT DISCIPLINE FROM THEM MORE THAN ANY ONE ELSE. THEY WERE THE BEST. THEY TAUGHT ME PROPER CONTROL AND HOW TO USE PROPER TECHNIQUES, BUT I AM ALWAYS STILL LEARNING AND PRACTICING. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK FOR ANY HELP IF ANY ONE COULD SHARE THEIR OPINIONS WITH ME. . I WILL EXPLAIN WHAT CYMBALS I PLAYED, AND THEN STARTED COLLECTING AND WHAT I AM NOW COLLECTING AND PLAYING. BUT, I WANT TO KNOW IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF THESE 'STAGG' CYMBALS? I KNOW WHAT CYMBALS THE BIG CYMBAL COMPANIES MAKE, AND WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE AND COST, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SMALLER COMPANIES THAT MAKE THE CHEAPER CYMBALS? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE AWESOME, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN DRUMMING FOR 45 YRS, AND STARTED WHEN I WAS 6, I STILL NEED ADVICE AND HELP. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP ANOTHER PERSON WITH THEIR IDEAS AND ADVICE I HAVE HEARD OF' STAGG' PRODUCTS BEFORE. I HAVE A FEW 'STAGG' COWBELLS THAT ARE COOL. HERE ARE THE STYLES AND BRANDS OF CYMBALS THAT I USED TO PLAY, AND NOW COLLECT, AND THE BRAND AND STYLES THAT I NOW PLAY AND ALSO NOW COLLECT. I HAD ALWAYS PLAYED 'ZILDJIAN' 'A' SERIES CYMBALS FROM THE 70'S THROUGH THE 90'S I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT TODAY I AM BROKE. LOL. HAHAHA. I BOUGHT A TON OF 'ZILDJIAN' CYMBALS OVER THE PAST 35 YEARS. I AM ALSO VERY PROUD TO HAVE A HUGE COLLECTION OF ALMOST EVERY TYPE OF 'A' ZILDJIAN CYMBAL FROM EACH 'A' SERIES 'ERA'. FROM THE CYMBAL HAVING NO LETTER 'A' ON IT, TO THE SMALL 'a', AND THEN THE LARGE LETTER 'A' PRINTED ON THE CYMBALS. IT WAS SOMEWHERE TOWARDS THE END OF THE 90'S THAT I STARTED LEARNING ABOUT 'WUHAN' CHINA CYMBALS. I BOUGHT A FEW DIFFERENT CHINA SIZES, AND FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM. WHEN I LEARNED THAT 'WUHAN' MADE A WHOLE LINE OF OTHER CYMBALS, AND BECAUSE I LOVED THEIR CHINA'S MORE THAN MY 'ZILDJIANS,' AND SINCE THE PRICES WERE SO AWESOME, I IMMEDIATELY BOUGHT SEVERAL 'OLD TRADITIONAL' [ NOW DISCONTINUED] 'WUHAN CYMBALS . IN MY OPINION, WHEN I COMPARED THE WUHANS TO MY ZILDJIANS, I HAD TO PUT MY ZILDJIANS AWAY, AND STARTED COLLECTING THEM [ THE 'A' SEREIES]. I HAD STARTED BUYING EVERY 'OLD TRADITIONAL' WUHAN CYMBAL BACK IN THE DAYS. 'GUITAR CENTER' CALLED ME THE 'WUHAN GUY', HAHAHA. I USED TO CALL THEM EVERY OTHER DAY TO SEE WHAT THEY GOT IN, AND WHAT I COULD ORDER NEXT. I LOVE WUHAN CYMBALS, AND YES, I LOVE THEIR PRICES. THEN, I LEARNED OF THE 'S SERIES' WUHAN CYMBALS [NOW DISCONTINUED].I BOUGHT AS MANY OF THOSE CYMBALS AS I COULD BUY. WHEN ALL OF THESE BECAME DISCONTINUED, I TOOK ALL OF THEM OFF OF MY DRUM SET SO THEY WOULDN'T GET RUINED, AND I BOUGHT THE 'NEW TRADITIONAL' WUHAN SERIES. I HAD BOUGHT EVERY TYPE OF WUHAN CYMBAL [ ALL 3 STYLES] THAT I COULD GET MY HANDS ON, AND I AM STILL BUYING THEM TO THIS DAY, [ MOSTLY ON E BAY]. I DON'T THINK THAT I HAVE THEM ALL. [ESPECIALLY THE DISCONTINUED ONES], BUT I AM VERY CLOSE TO HAVING EVERY ONE. I HAVE DOUBLES AND MORE OF EVERY 'NEW TRADITIONAL' WUHAN CYMBAL LINE. I HAVE ABOUT 24 WUHAN' RIDES 'ALL TOGETHER, AND 9 HI HATS, ALL FROM THE DIFFERENT STYLES. YOU SHOULD SEE HOW MANY SPLASHES THAT I HAVE. ITS CRAZY. I SHOULD OPEN A DRUM STORE. MY CYMBALS ALSO LOOK AMAZING, AND SOUND FANTASTIC. HOWEVER, I HAVE MY FAVORITES, AND DON'T LIKE SOME OF THEM. I USE ALL 'NEW TRADITIONAL' CYMBALS ON 2 DRUM KITS, ALONG WITH SOME OF THE DISCONTINUED CYMBALS AND I HAVE A SECOND SET OF ALL 'NEW TRADITIONAL' WUHANS IN MY COLLECTION BAGS. - NEVER USED. BRAND NEW STILL , AFTER MANY YEARS. I HAVE SEVERAL EXTRAS OF THE NEW CYMBALS. I HAVE ALMOST ALL THE CHINA'S ON BOTH SETS, ALONG WITH SEVERAL OF EVERY SPLASH FROM ALL THE DIFFERENT STYLES ON MY 2 KITS. I ALSO HAVE A SECOND SET OF EVERY 'WUHAN' CHINA CYMBAL IN MY COLLECTION. AGAIN, NEVER USED, AND BRAND NEW. I AM NOW LOOKING TO GET ALL OF THE LINEAR CYMBALS [ 5 ENDS], AND ALL OF THE LINEAR SMASHER CRASHES [ THE STACKS]. OH, AND I NEED TO GET ALL OF THE LINEAR SMASH CYMBALS. [ THE CYMBALS WITH THE SWISS CHEESE WHOLES].LOL. MAY BE TO PLAY , OR JUST TO COLLECT. UNLESS, I BUY THEM ALL TO COLLECT, AND ONLY BUY THE ONES I LIKE TO PLAY. WHEN I LISTENED TO SOME OF THESE 'STAGG' CRASH CYMBALS, I SORT OF LIKED THE 'ATTACK', [ I COULD HEAR 'HEAVINESS' IN ONE OF THE CRASHES]. I REALLY LIKED THE OVERALL SOUND, BUT I WASN'T CRAZY ABOUT THE 'SUSTAIN' AT THE END. .THE STAGG CRASHES THAT I HEARD SOUNDED A LITTLE LIKE 'WUHANS'. WOULD ANY ONE AGREE? WHAT DO YOU THINK? PLEASE HELP. I WOULD LIKE TO START ANOTHER CYMBAL COLLECTION, BUT ONLY TO BUY AND USE CHEAP CYMBALS. HOW ARE STAGG PRICES COMPARED TO 'ZILDJIAN' AND 'WUHAN' CYMBALS? ARE THEY THE SAME AS 'WUHAN' PRICES, OR IN BETWEEN THESE TWO CYMBALS? ALSO, WHAT ABOUT THE 'DREAM' CYMBALS THAT ARE OUT TODAY? I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THEM. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADDITIONAL HELP . THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND HELP. PLEASE BE WELL AND BE SAFE. HAPPY DRUMMING. PEACE, GLEN
Hello! How are you? I'm Fine! I speak from Brasil! I have one question. Wish is Ride Cymbals with better Ping? Whish is the Ride Cymbals that emits less harmonious? which values more Ping? Tank You Hugs from Brasil!
The 20" sh ride is my favorite that I own,
Don't like the rides that much
Nice drumming. Nice cymbals. Do you recommend the SH series?
Dh hats are quite cutting. Cant understand how your ear works, since u described SH as Dark and DH as Bright; quite the contrary instead (as you would expect from a Dual Hammered compared to a Single Hammered)
Great demo. What's that snare? Rocks. So does your playing. I own a variety of Stagg cymbals, and an ex 13" hat, love them.
The SH sounded the best for me, especially those hats are awesome. I might buy a pair of them.
Very nice video, well done comparison. Congrats :-D
Are the DH usually more expensive then SH? Is it worth the extra bucks? I saw a set from germany with SH for 268£ and the DH with same size cymbals for 411£ Both kits are R20 C16 H14
