If you had to choose between the Sigma, Tamron or this Sony, which would you go with and why?

Compared to Canon, I'm finding the Sonys look really vibrant, but a bit... sharp, grainy, harsh. But color is impressive.

Hello Jared, did you perform the Aperture Tests from f-min to f-max for this lens? My copy and a7R3 only gave me photos up to f22 (at the time I took picture my a7R3 showed up to f32 or f36 in the viewfinder depending upon the focal length I set) for all focal lengths but the Specifications indicate that f-min is from f32 to f36. Thank you.

What about the A7R4? Surely not every single image would look bad or will the AF lag behind when you need it the most? Surely with 61MP you will be eating up storage like it's nothing but just a couple shots of hundreds of thousands of bad ones would make it all worth it over an A9 that hits nearly every time ??

Why do Americans always refer to anything outside of nikon Canon and now sony as third party? Some of the sigma tamron lenses are really killing the nikon and Canon alternatives. I have a mixture of nikon and tamron, the tamron 70 200 G2 is probs my best lens.

Yes, Sony did such a good job with this lens, it's tough to justify the 600 f/4.

Q: I think I need some help I just got my new FE 200-600 g oss and paired it to my A9. The Sony lens replaced my las setup witj LEAE4+Sigma 500mm APO+Kenko Teleplus 1.4 TC. I did switch to tryin the traking modes (I finally settled on the flexible-expandable traking mode) and to a responsive - Lock-on situation. However, I'm after a day fo shooting migratory birds (Shrikes and black-winged kites mostly) - All photos were done using the 600mm (@ F6.3 nothing was in focus EVER), and mostly everyting went to the garbage bin, since it cam out really degraded as compared to the former setup (almost tice as heavy, and long and cumbersome and tiring even for "auto-photo" shoot - meaning, using the tinted windows and 4x4 to create a moving hide. -Obviously I'm doing something wrong !! -I don't get the "green box" of focus EVER with the new Sony FE 200-600. I do use it with the internal stabilization switched on on 3rd mode, so as to snatch it from the passenger seat and take snap shots. Any help from you guys will be greatly appreciated. ( I also have A99ii which I've been shooting with since 2016, and it's actually great - with the Sigma 500mm APO & Kenko MC4 TC 1.4) Maybe because I keep the back focus button depressed throughout waiting for pirtched birds to do something, maybe something else. I use 3200 - 25,600 ISO with +0.3 to +0.7 compensation, and soft SS of ~ 2000, which mostly works for me even at dawn.

I think it would be best that you didn't put it to the competition Chelsea as your final statement would probably go something like this "The Sony 200-600 mm lens is awesome, fantastic and out of this world, BUT it still can't be Nikon Lenses".

Great Vid showing both sides of buying such a long telephoto lens. I had the Sigma 100-400 and for the price the image quality is Stella but I am still getting the Sony as that extra 200mm for Wildlife Birds is very necessary. There are also no plans for Sigma to make a teleconverter for it..I got this info from Sigma. One other major point is the internal zoom on the sony doesnt pump dust onto your sensor like the 100-400mm by either manufacturers. Regards Stay safe.
