If i control the camera via the sony imaging edge app, can i still use the zoom function via the app with this lens?
Is this lens weather sealed? I keep finding people say yes and no, so confusing lol Thanks!

Debating between the Zeiss 16-35 f/4 and Sigma 14-24 f/2.8. Using it mostly for Vlogs and mini-documentaries. I occasionally do real estate photography. Both lenses have their unique advantages over the other, and with the price difference being only $300, it's taking me a while to decide. Any suggestions?
Also what iso and shutter speed were you using on your test sheets.
On your black and white test sheets , what did you use to print them with and what was the quality of the paper? Did you use manual or autofocus.
Please, can you review sony g master 16-35 f/2.8? I want to buy one, so i would be gratefull to have your opinion.
Your lens review is the best!
I cannot find your review of the Sony E 16-35 F2.8 GM.
I really onyl need a lens like that to get rid of the last bit of jitter introduced by walking with a gimbal so I don't have to do the full ninja walk. This would work as a secondary to my Sigma trinity for my a6400.
I had this lens (my first paired with a Sony A7iii) and used it for over two years before selling it recently. I find that I miss it more than I thought I would! They can be had for very cheap used and the build quality and results you get are simply fantastic. I especially love how the lens renders color. Someday I see myself buying it again. It is a phenomenal landscape lens.
I bought it for my A6000 which was dumb since it's a crop camera but ah well.
I realllllllllllllly want thissss but im not skilled enough to spend this much
Is this lens good for Sony a6400?
Love this lense. Made an review too https://youtu.be/6Hs3VTa12f8
I own this lens and I love it,it’s great with my A73, I find it very sharp, maybe iv got a good one.!!!!
oh man, i want to visit that town! where is this?
I have the same camera and lens and I have an issue ..
The video I am getting is very poor it looks like very unsharpen...
I shoot in 50p with all the rules ... please help me
Can anyone explain it to me how a £1000 lens is not sharp at the 28/35mm range? Crazy, isn't it?
16-35mm is the new jam for landscapes!! What do you guys think? Also.... Notice anything different about this upload? Slightly wider perhaps? 🎥 🤫
It‘s in the Title but i can‘t see one Landscapepicture with the Lens in the whole Video!
I am seriously looking at this lens. Just one questions remains for me. When connected to the sony imaging edge app, can i use the zoom with this lens?
My dream to have 16-35mm f2.8...So for landscape I use 24-70mm f4 and.... For video 🎉🎊🎉🎊🎊🎉🎊Have a look 👍📸
I'm on budget and I like this sense so far. I am very new to real estate photography. So what would you recommend if not this? f2.8 is $1000 more
Very true. For 16-35 not often need f2.8
watched this video for 48 seconds, this is exactly what i've been looking for *_*
I believe another win for this lens is it's built in OSS, most wide angle G master lens don't! Great review!
how does it compare to tamron17-28
Can I use this lense on my a6600?
What camera make in this video when You filmed your girlfriend or wife whith sony 16-35mm f4?😍
Fantastic footage. !!!
Tell me about weather sealing capbility of 16-35mm lens?
im more interested in the mic that you used in this video. What was it? it sounds so clean and crips despite being outdoor
Is this lense good for videos and photography?
can i use it on a aps-c camera? and what are the differences? Thanks
Bruh, I am so effing jealous! Living in Australia, what I wouldn't give for some tranquil lakes and snow capped mountains to photograph!!
Cody what's aperture for landscap
F4 or what
Thanks for this great review.. from a scale to 10, how much would you recommand it?
Hi! I just bought a sony a6000 and dream to become a landscape and wildlife photographer. Which lens(es) will you recommend and why? You advices would mean a lot! Thanks :D
What's your go to wide angle?
I am taking a second look at FE mount OSS lenses in the context of the Sony FX6 which doesn't have IBIS and if i don't want to use Catalyst to do post-processing to add stabilization. This lens seems perfect for FX6 run and gun.
Hi Stefan. Your review is appreciated. yours is one of extremely few (if not the only) reviews which showed actual images for sharpness + vignetting at varied focal lengths + aperture. Keep up good work. cheers.
How is this for Pure Landscape purpose
More than seven and a half minutes long and not once did you mention that this lens is a Sony/Zeiss collaboration. You totally ignored that this is not just a Sony lens. If it wasn't for the fact that the Zeiss logo was visible a few times during the video, you would think that this was basically from the same series of lenses that are represented by the kit lenses.
thanks man, was looking for reviews to decide, buying now
Pretty weak tactic to RE-label a 2019 video with a 2020 title instead of actually making a new video with useful updated information. I was thinking I might sub to your channel when I saw your other videos but when you’re pulling this kind of stuff it’s hard to believe you can be trusted for anything else. Shame on you.
Title says 2020, video made in 19, did you think nobody would notice the title change?
Excellent review, sir! As a landscape and product STILLS X-T3 shooter (no video), I have been debating on selling my Fuji kit (reluctantly), and moving into FF, specifically the Sony a7Rlll and lenses like the Sony 16-35 f/2.8 GM, and the 90mm f/2.8 G Macro . Since I shoot 99% tripod-mounted, neither IBIS nor video interests me. So, my question is, for large print output (around 24"x 36" prints), how much of an improvement in terms of image sharpness, detail rendition, dynamic range, base ISO performance, etc., would I see over the already excellent X-T3 (combined with the ultra-sharp Fujinon XF80mm f/2.8 Macro lens), when using the a7Rlll and the Sony 90mm f/2.8 G Macro or Sony 16-35 f/4 tripod-mounted? Thanks!
When people watch reviews they are interested “is the lens good?”. No one needs specs. Those can be easily found online.
Would love to see a review on the Sony FE 16-35mm f2.8 GM! Keep up the amazing, honest reviews man! Can't get enough of your vids right now! 😁👍
Seriously awesome review, thanks so much for making this video.
I just bought the 17-28 and 28-75. I know I'm going to miss that 35 range because that's what i use the most lol
Very thorough video
which one would you buy now that the tamron 17-28 2.8 is available, this or the tamron?
I am wondering, here new, with 3 years warranty is 870$ hm...
I’m really confused why you say in every Sony lens review that they don’t have a rubber gasket. They do it is just located on the outside of the lens mount by the screws.
This was my 2nd lens I bought the day it was released (ages ago right) (Got the Kit 28-70 and sold that shortly after) and I STILL love it after all this time, bought the 24-105 as well and between these 2 lenses they are my 2 travel lenses. I also own a few other lenses (24/1.4, 35/1.4, 55/1.8, 85/1.8, 90/2.8-Macro + 100-400) but mostly when I travel I always still reach for the 16-35 + 24-105 :)
I will wait for the Tamron f 2.8 . And then I will see if the Zeiss lens falls in price. Once it falls , I will buy it. I am little skeptical for buying the Tamron or if I feel comfortable , I will buy the 16-35 mm GM and then my focal range is covered forever.
Still good? It’s not a loaf of bread... it isn’t going to go bad lol 😂

Is sony 16 for full frame only?
Which combination is best for staring landscape photography Canon EOS R + EF16-35 F4L Or Sony A73 + Zies 16-35 F4. My first choices is canon but i am confused because there is no IBIS
Great comparison vid! I’ve had the Zeiss 16-35 for awhile now and find it to be a brilliant lens for cityscape, landscape and interiors! Good build quality too.
Selling some of my lens for a g master! The gmaster does it all. I do video and photographer for restaurants and real estate.
Great work. Thanks
Great test! Just the video I needed
is it not a bit fair when the GM lens uses f 2.8 instead of f4 when comparing the images ? thx you for your nice video
Do you think the Sony Zeiss 16-35mm will be as sharp as the GM on a Sony a7R IV? I will mostly shoot f/8 - f/11, so I don’t need the wide aperture, but I’m afraid that it doesn’t resolve as much of the sensor. It would be nice to save some money, so I can use the rest on a prime.
Excellent video! May I ask, what lens is used for the top down shots? Well done!
I love your name😂😂 In german „Oma“ means Granny.
Nice. Try to compare Tamron 17-28 f2.8 and 16-35 f4
Check AF on your next comparison in low light especially. Great work. I can tell you spend a lot of time.
Excellent comparison, guys! I have a question...As a landscape and product STILLS X-T3 shooter (no video), I have been debating on selling my Fuji kit (reluctantly), and moving into FF, specifically the Sony a7Rlll and lenses like the Sony 16-35 f/4, and the 90mm f/2.8 G Macro . You forget the most important test for photographers...against the sun test
true that you can have both 16-35 zeiss and samyang/rokinon 35 1.4. but how about astro? 16-35 2.8 can get nice astro and lowlight video. and what about when you do travel a lot and can't afford to change lens? sometimes the client would only give you like few minutes to shoot before you go to the next area.. the GM gives you that much of versatility having to bring only 1 lens and can do it all. prime lenses are best if you have all the time to prepare and get the best shot. each lenses serves it's purpose. if you have all the time to prepare, and doesn't shoot that much in lowlight then 16-35 zeiss would be enough.
Love this lense. Made an review too https://youtu.be/6Hs3VTa12f8
I am using Zeiss lens for my a73 ...
The video quality is very dull and unsharpen .. please help me
Big thank for for your video. I do really like the way you compare, it's very details. I pick the Zeiss over the Gmaster because of weight and cheaper. Subscribed.
