First, you can tilt the screen up, and hold the camera upside down. The camera even auto-rotates the picture for you. Secondly, I just figured out how to get it to stop the fake shutter noise! I very carefully took a small drill bit, inserted it into the speaker holes, and fucking jammed it around until it shut the fuck up. I would be very careful when doing this, as it takes a very precise amount of frustration. In all seriousness though, I got it for cheeeeeap because it had a small blemish on the screen, like less than half price, and I don't need the speaker anyway since any video taken will be with a secondary device, as the built-in mics are shit. I certainly don't recommend breaking the speaker, but it worked, and it's now at a much quieter noise level.

If one seeks out the greatest images in photographic history, most every old-school optic was INFERIOR to either of the Sony computerized ED & Aspherical element kit zoom lenses (the 16-50 or the FF 28-70); in other words, critical pixel peeping (or gear) doesn't make one a better photographer...

I think the 16-50 is not that far away from 18-135 in photo performance, but 18-135 is absolutely not worth 3/4 times more in price!!!

few days ago I dropped mine flat face down onto laminate flooring from apx 5 ft.. the front lens and retainer ring popped out ..took me a while to reassemble no you tube strip down of the front parts .. anyways I did it in the end but was out of focus .. so with lens on my a6000 I did a factory reset and all back to normal ..solid little peace of engineering .

Do you have any thoughts on an adapter like the FujiFilm WL-FXE01 0.75x wide angle adapter and then cropping in with clear zoom? 16mm(24mm) would become 12mm(18mm) then you'd have 4mm(6mm) to work with, allowing the edge softness to be cropped out while still having a wider field of view - with that adapter there's be little to no change in IQ either.
