I have the same Sony MDR xb 450 (black)and I keep it like my own child.whoever mess with my headphones by pressing its cushions or driver saved them from my wrath.otherwise I am always happy.
Had a pair of these since 2015 and they've survived everything including being thrown into backpacks, dropped on the ground, spending 1 year under the bed covered in dust, me tossing and turning in my sleep yanking the cable around. Below Freezing temperatures, a month on the dashboard of a hot car in the sun. They've been abused as bad as a pair of headphones could possible be and the cable is still perfect and the sound is the same. Idk what the hell sony makes these out of but I'll be damned if it wasn't the best money I've ever spent.
The only bad thing i have with this thing is it hurts my ears after a long time.
I have been using this headphone for about 5 years. The only issue i have is that it has become loose and often fall from my head.
