The Sony MDR-7506 Will Change YOUR Life
Sony MDR-7506 Review & Sound Leak Test - Best Headphones Under $90?
Thanks for the review. I use this on a silent Yamaha guitar SLG200S and the sound quality is excellent however the volume could be louder. You mentioned weak phones would need a boost. What (portable) solution would you recommend to amplify the 3.5mm output of the guitar? Thanks!
hello, I will use this headphone when recording vocals. Is this leaking sound outside?
These headphones are for mixing and mastering and monitoring audio. They are not for general purpose use although you can use them that way but they're main intention is for broadcast and studio work
The only thing I want to see Sony do to these headphones is make the cable detachable that's it
thanks for the review :D cheers
I'm in the radio /podcast business. If you can find better cans, let me know. Truly: everything else I've heard are inferior. Do they look cool? No. Do they sound great? Hundreds of thousands of people who do audio for a living can't find anything that sounds better. (Wish I could, they're not pretty. But nothing beats the sound. Pun intended.)
They may be cheap but you'll never get an accurate depiction of your audio unless you invest in some high end speakers, and never be able to tell subtle bass things without proper subs. In ears with a good bass profile are probably a worthy investment too, to remove problems in your room if you don't have a pro studio
Part of the purpose of monitors is to present you with what you would expect to hear when the audio is played in a room. Usually this means, emphasized mids and lower treble
leave the internet
i am really thinking about buying one for music/gaming dose it worth it or not
This is bad for musicI'm returning mine
This guy goes on about looks when true audiophiles dont care about looks, they care about sound and nothing else. This guy would hate Sennheiser HD25s and they truly are great cans.
This headphone next to my MDR-CD900ST lasted 15years and still functioning and you saying that they are not durable?, actually this and CD900ST the most modular studio headphone you can ever buy you can modify it, change the headset if it's broken since they are still selling parts for these. while with BEATS you cant even repair it anymore lol.... you have ZERO understanding why those became standard in studio.
This or Dt 770 pro?
Are you fucking stupid?
"cans" "dope"This guy is like 40 trying to talk like he's 20
These are work headphones. Buy Dre if you want pretty.
Honestly thought you were Christopher Mintz Plasse at first.
This is the worst headphone review I've ever seen
best headphones ive ever owned
This is a FAKE mdr7506...
This seems more like an advertisement for sonarworks than a review.
I have to say I agree, the huge treble hump these have in the mid to low highs is really too much and makes the headphones very harsh and fatiguing to listen to.
Flat frequency response is not the end all and be all of great sound. There are so many other variables. I use these headphones daily and not found a more accurately revealing real world representation. I use Shure HPAEC1540 Replacement Alcantara Ear Pads on these Sony's.
lol at the comments. These cans have qualities but also obvious flaws. Anybody serious about audio know this. It doesn't take long to notice the harshness and lack of bass. You can mix on these but you have to know what they do. Know you gear.
Just ordered online...
These aren't mixing headphones, they are for studio monitoring while recording
Andrew Scheps uses these to mix on the move. He did a mix with them and the guys at Abbey Road thought it was his final mix - it was that good. Soooooooo.....
These headphones are great!! This is not a review. This is a severe critique!
I have 2 pair of these. Love these things.
*These have excellent sound quantity>**JustU.Faith/-SonyHeadset?** on par with JBL Studio towers but without the glass wear shaking in the house! Being a neat freak of sorts I don't want the coil cord to get all stretched out so I added a length of braided fishing line down the center of coil cord tied at both ends to limit the stretch.*
What about beardynamics dt770 250 ohms
Can I use them for listening or gaming?
Im watching this with mdr-7506's!
Just bought these for piano practice. So I think I did good
CNET Review - "They've been around since 1991, but the Sony MDR-7506s are still great sounding -- and fitting -- headphones for less than $100." SHOP HERE -
While this video aka ad shows more prejudice and bias than Trump at a rally. Far from the former, this software reveals the truth. Sonarworks does what it says it does. My audio genuinely sounds better. I trust what my headphones give me as a reference.
so you shitting on the phones to promote you software. Interesting approach.
What about the sennheiser Hd 280 pro
when you EQ these things they are an incredible bargain.
So... I had M40x, 7506, a few Sennheiser and a pair of old vintage STAX headphones.... I'm looking for a new pair, because I have a Razer gaming headset... it's great for gaming, sucks for music.Should I get 7506 again or should I bet on Grado SR60E that I never had before? They're about the same price (~99, 120$)... I listen to all types of music, not a fan of a particular genre.
I'm sure I commented here a few months ago but I tried the MDR V6's vs the MDR 7506, FUCK! THE 7506's win!
Ive been using my same pair for 20yrs!
I changed the ear pads on my 7506s to some thicker foam hybrid pads. The Highs, Ouch!
sony mdr or philips shp? which should i buy
So. Did you like the Sonys?
Long ago my pup chewed one of the earcup cables - still worked but eventually broke. That set me on a headphone journey. Found several great cans from $10 - 150, the most expensive of which being the only one that died (DT990 Pro bad driver).Last week, years later, for fun I dug up the old 7506 and refurbished them with soldering skills I never had back then. They are good as new and sound as fantastic as ever from lowest sub bass to sharpest highs. Structurally they are the *toughest* headphones I've ever had.Don't sleep on these - pick one up and keep it for life. (Just keep them away from razor toothed teething puppies.)
Bro you look like Andy Sandberg except more handsome if that makes any sense.
Hi dude, how this compare to the SPH9500? What is the difference between them? If you have to choose which one it would be?
been using these ever since my dad gave them to me a couple years ago. amazing.
Hi are they great to listen to binaural meditation?
Just bought a pair right now. Should be here Saturday
bout to buy them for $25
3rd WORLD by SLUMSON was recorded using Sony MDR V700 and V600 from back in the day. We use Sennheiser HD now. Still have the Sony joints.
https://youtu.be/ecnwHaTMthw?t=559 7506 disturbed me in this sound demo
This over the SHP9600?
Hey! Nice vid. I've been looking to buy these for quite some time as a way of entering in audio mixing/recording world, as well for casual listening. However, online reviews also point out that the AKG k371 are possibly better, and in the same price range. Have you ever tried the AKG? If so, how do they compare to the Sonys? Thanks and keep on rocking! Cheers
Hilarious brah!
How do these rate against Sennheiser 280 pros?
Hi would these be good for electric drums? It doesn't have a kind of surround effect does it?
What is the best earpads replacement for this MDR 7606?
Very good review thanks. But the design of Sony is really horrible ! (outdated) I understand price is so low affordable and they sounds very good, but really exist another headphone in the world that has an updated design ,comfortable, and sound better than the Sony MDR 7506 ? and cost 90-100$ or a little bit more? It appears to me as Impossible!! does they sound better than the Beyerdinamic DT 770 pro 80 Ohms? thanks for reply +best regards,+Merry Christmas 2020
Its amazing that Sony had not changed this design since 1991! How many other electronics products remain unchanged for 30 years!
I just picked up a pair. Theyre ok, but way too much of a bump in the low Highs, around 2-7khz. Very fatiguing to listen to. If I had to pick one word to describe the sound it would be harsh. Vocals are very loud and overpowering in the mix.
Does anyone know where they can be repaired. Can't find any place that repair these.
If I want this for studio mixing and mastering would it be better to go for these headphones or the m40x?
I bought a pair from Ebay for less than $100, absolutely great, work with an Xbox Controller as a pass through to the PC for USB playing steam games, works for editing, which is amazing, great headphones for the price.
Mine just went dead gotta get a new pair. Had them for almost 10 years.
Will I need an headphone amp for this headphones cuz they're 63 ohms and are they good for mixing/music producing
Im owning a pair of DT 770 Pros (80 Ohms) , and im listening to a lot of progressive metal like Meshuggah and a lot of deathmetal, Minimal Techno and Rap, HipHop. While im using the dt 770 pros with 80 ohm I'm feeling that they get a little bit sloppy around the mids and especially the highs, the bass is great tho. Do you think i will hear a minor difference with the 7506 in the overall quality? Im mostly listening to music on my pc and i was thinking about getting the Sony MDR 7506 in combination with the Creative Soundblaster X G6 external soundcard.Your suggestions? Right now im just using the DT770Pro 80 Ohms with my standard Mainboard (asus ddr4 generation)....
HI there, asking after almost 6 years, how does this compare to M40x? btw, I got the M40x thanks to you over the M50x, not a base fan :)
How it is with bass?
Is the MDR-7506 well made?
How does the MDR-7506 compare to beats by dre headphones?
If I want a more clean and balanced sound, is the MDR-7506 a good choice?
