I got my Sony A8H Yesterday as a early birthday gift and let me tell you last night I was blown away I never had a TV look like it was One of the displays from Best Buy but in your home I mean I couldn’t believe what I was seeing I watch so many reviews from AG9 to A8H and how they say how amazing these TVs are but when you get it and have it in your home these guys are damn right like I said I couldn’t believe what I was seeing it was so realistic clear by far this is the best TV I ever had and this is not even A9G.

I purchase this for the picture quality. And it is very good. I will basically use it as a monitor. I also made the decision to NOT hook this up to anything, no internet connection or antenna except my Apple TV box. I only stream and as an Apple user I use my my Apple TV box for everything and I will also use mirroring from my apple laptop. If Apple does not have a TVOS app for what I want, I can still mirror it from my laptop. I am aware I will never ever get any firmware updates, and that really does not bother me one bit. I can if necessary access the internet just to update, then kill that connection. But I have never updated a 14 year old SONY, and it works super. Thanks for making me feel I made the right decision.

ABL = a function that dims your Oled screen to protect burn in, very distracting especially for gamers and if you notice it you’re going to return the tv. Oled great for movies, not for gaming

What do y'all think about getting the A8H now or waiting for the price to potentially drop further? There's a very reputable local electronics dealer here in Atlanta (not Best Buy) that sells open box sets. He's got a 65 inch f for $1599. I really want this TV but that little voice on my shoulder is telling me to wait because I could probably get it for a lower cost once we hit summer. Am I looking at this the wrong way?

I never understand why people lay it down? I’ve set up both my 65 A8H, A8G and my 55 A9G myself with never needing another person or laying it down. The box and foam is designed to assemble standing up at all times
I bought the A89 which is the A8H just with premium stands and premium metal remote with buttons light. When I lift the remote the lights on the buttons go smootly on and when I lie the remote down, they turn off smoothly. Im pretty impressed by the sound. Its better then some soundbars. The TV gets pretty bright with peak luminance on high and advanced contrast but its too bright so I turn off most just peak lum. On high. I think the upscaling is pretty nice. Im just not sure if I should upgrade the firmware. I dont need any new features. Does anything gets improved?
mine has purple flickering whenever I turn on the TV to watch something but just for like a second. Don't know if it's normal or if I should return it for a new one.

Amazing tv. I just never understood the super slim top half and big bump out bottom half, forcing the top to sit 3 inches away from the wall. What’s the point? Just make it so that it’s even from top to bottom. So what if it means the overall thickness is 1 or 1.5 inches. At least it looks like art on the wall that way.

We’ve retested the A8H and have been able to force a 1440p @ 60Hz resolution from our Xbox One S, but it still isn’t exposed in the EDID and when forced from a PC the TV information shows the signal is upscaled to 4k instead. 1440p @ 120Hz also doesn’t work, as every second frame is skipped.

Returned a 65" LED due to it being too dark. Picked up the 65" Sony OLED for much more money, but well worth it in my opinion. The picture clarity is fantastic, much better than I expected.

What a great video. As great as the Sony and LG Oleds are. Being across the pond in 2019. I grabbed the king of oled , The Panasonic GZ2000. I'm lucky in the fact that I paid half the retail cost, because of the business I'm in. I'd. never pay that kind of money for any tv, period! Why does Panasonic not send at least 1 of there oleds in both 55 and 65 here to the states? Maybe you have some thoughts on this. Once again, glad I found your channel. Keep up the great work!
