I watched this video twice. it was twice a waste of time, this kid hates sony, and makes quite bad reviews about these cameras. A lot of information is not given a test made with a cheapo lens. not worth watching.

To this day, it's still the best crop sensor camera ever made, just lacks 4k video. I bought an A7Rii last year to make my A77ii as a back camera and ended up in making the A7Rii as a backup camera. Speed and FPS on A7Rii fails me all the time, missing many great shots especially with slow shutter and being 42mp, it sucks all the time if not paired with best glass out there and it's super costly to keep buying GM lenses I have achieved as good quality as full frame shots with A77ii even with old Minolta glass especially 28-135 and 19-35 and also the APS-C Sony 55-300 lens is very comparable to the 100-400 GM for just $100 on ebay. This is important to take into account.

i shoot with sony, canon and nikon bodies and they are all great cameras that give excellent results, however my sony SLT A mount camera bodies have two major features that lead the pack, first the Electronic viewfinder that allows you to see the finished product before you actually shoot the image which opens the door for many many other features and second is the body stabilization.i shoot for pleasure
A lot of reviews, but you don't took a decent photo, maybe you got to invest more time learning photography and less criticizing the technology.

Does this guy even LIKE photography? I own Nikon, Canon and Sony, so no I am not a butthurt fanboy. But this guy is just plain negative. Calling the 77 MkII "just OK" and not even knowing what actually IS improved in the MkII makes your review pretty fucking useless.

GPS isn't to know where you are. Having the GPS coordinates in Lightroom is very useful for the obvious finding images and identifying where the shot was taken.

Watching this review one year later because I was lucky enough to snag a A77ii body for $600! Looks nice, can't wait for the arrival, and nice to know about the key features!
Thanks for the review. really helpful i have a question and I wish if you can help me out. Do you have any idea how to disable the pre-flash (with flash on my camera flashes three times before taking a shot) that's really irritating and made me miss some shots already for the on the move shots. thanks again. cheers

Thanks. Just to note that it has the same 24 MP as the original A77. Not "increased" as noted at 0:30.
The a77 Mk II uses the same battery grip as the original a77.  This is a good thing because I had an original a77 and upgraded to the Mk II a few weeks back.  Some of the other features I really like about the new version is the standard hot shoe, the locking program button, of course the wifi and NFC features.  I really could go on and on about the new features I like about the Mk II.  The auto focus is quite a bit faster than the older a77 and it comes in very handy for shooting sports and wildlife.

Konica mount is't not compatible with A-mount, when Minolta and Konica became Konica-Minolta it made cameras only in the A mount .

Funny. The A77II shoots in 4k for video. I've used the feature.

Great video, consider me subbed. Just one thing I wanted to point out though: the a77ii actually has video recording in XAVC S format at up to 50Mbps (you may need to upgrade the firmware to get it) Then if you set your color profile (creative style) to Neutral with -3,-3,-2, it's actually not too bad.

@B and H  Sony camera are awesome  but  I  heard they quite an awful baterry life especially when you compare with Nikon SLRs .  Do discuss about battery life as well as It's also important for some people.

A test no one does-compare Sony a6000 vs Sony a77II of kids on swing going to and from you.  How well does the af tracking do in that situation.  Should tell people with a6000 if they need an a77II.
Nice vid. Got my a77II a couple of months ago to take the place of my dear old a300, but realy miss a good guide book to learn the more advanced things with the camera. Anyone here know of a good book for me? I have my eyes on Gary Friedmans version, but it still isn't available.
