😂 Alien Technology Named Google! Would it not be better suited to name it />app? To me that seems more alien than Google naming itself. Would it be so strange if it were alien tech that lived in ether? What would such tech do? Just crawl around the web, indexing everything.. what would be the use of that? Predictions? You are missing the gold standard, The Mythical Man Month! Read that and you know how to write code, and how to beat managers into submission. I learned to slow down and thoroughly prototype. Then chuck it all out and then write the final product. And that really does help, as that code is generally far less buggy and is very well structured, because you gave your brain the time to structure and dug out all the unknowns -- that are the root cause of ugly code, people keep sticking on bandaids, but after a certain point you need to concede and say: "NO MORE!"
And the whole idea that more people make projects go faster, is really thoroughly dispelled there.

Never read a single book like that. Programmers should just learn by doing. Build projects, google what you don’t know. Don’t get stressed about books, plenty of us never read these and got jobs in the industry.

Isn't the issue the apperture choose in relation to the fps? It should be at 50 when recording at 24fps, 120 when at 60fps etc

IMO Clean Code shouldn't be on the list, the language is terrible and code examples are far from "clean". There are other books that cover the same topics, but are far more readable and comprehensible, e.g. Philosophy of software design by John Ousterhout.

My thoughts: Many companies have Software Engineerung roles but majority of them have employees who have to focus on getting the job done rather than execute efficiently in production. Mostly FAANG like companies enforce the engineering principles as you explained.
