Actually I was looking at a spoon digital scale because like I was saying I need it just for for 1 gr.
I need to measure 1 gr for my Italian recipes, which scale is accurate for that? I have a beautiful Salter but doesn’t go lower than 5 gr. I really need an accurate 1 gr. I spent a lot of time looking for one but the reviews are not great I would appreciate if someone helps me thanks
Why doesn't OXO food scale have an ON/OFF button (4 minute shut-off is way too long)? How does AWS food scale stack up against OXO?

Old fashioned starfrit scale is the way to go. They’re 7-10$ and last forever. The only gripe is the unit button that is on the bottom.
I liked the design of the oxo scales but was very disappointed that it only goes from pounds to grams. No floz or ml, what use is that?
I have an Oxo scale (max-5 lbs) which I have been using for the past 8 years and I have used it for just about everything. The removal of the tray to clean is nice. To weigh ground beef for burgers is rather nice too.
I strongly advice the kitchen scale from Amazon. . The price is about 14 usd, very affordable. Design and features are great for the item I purchased from Amazon May be this item also good and you should think too.
Beware buyers, my scale failed after only two months and my continued contact with the Oxo warranty department has been ignored. I’m left with a worthless tool that was quite expensive.

No mention of how long the displays stay on, some are very short, it’s like they never heard of pour over coffee, no mentions of problems I have seen, powering it up, automatically zeroing out with a bowl that’s slightly 2 heavy, not too heavy for the scales, just too heavy for powering up, somewhere around 2 lbs gets an error message. They did the same thing with electric water kettles, no idea people use them for pour over coffee, opting for a short snout version. Nobody wants to own two electric kettles.

I’ve had that Oxo scale for about 10 years now and I absolutely love it. I’m really glad it won the test. Is there any kind of chart or reference for recipes that call for ingredients in volume to convert the measurements into weight?

I've had the OXO for more than 10 years, probably more like 20 years, and I still love it! It's worth the price.
I have a cheap Salter brand scale, and let me tell you why I HATE it. It uses a coin cell battery (the most inconvenient to buy and replace). And if you don't remove the battery after every single use, THE BATTERY IS DEAD, THE NEXT TIME YOU TRY TO USE THE SCALE. A totally worthless POS. I should smash it with a hammer. So for me, I want to know what scales use AA or AAA batteries.
I own the ‘best buy’ choice. For the number of times I use it per month, it’s perfect. I tend to try a lot of French recipes, and I wouldn’t be able to do them without mine.
