Why writer friends, what lady doesn't realize is that your the talent and as talent goes, we Don't need to know the ins and outs of certainly things we do. Look, Jack Kerouac was a shitty writer when in came to grammar sentence structure and stuff like that, but later on people when, huh the content is great I have a few poems and short stories that I want to publish, there kind of seedy or human-dark in nature. What would be a good place to self publish. Don't worry about critics the lack of self brings outs the worst in them
i've heard a lot of lulu bad reviews and horror stories so i've stayed away. then i hear the shipping times are really way longer than would be desired for today. i wish i could find a company that did POD at great prices without all these issues. i'm still looking. vervante is one option but they're a little higher in price, i think they do a better job though. idk, i haven't tested yet but they're one i'm still considering

Was there ever any update on this situation? I wouldn’t be interested in Lulu except for the fact that they seem to be the only print on demand company that gives you the ability to list directly on your own site.
I had printing problems with KDP but they have excellent customer service. I got two rounds of bad printing but an instant refund on both.
Customer service is a big deal. Lulu uses a web of printers so quality control is varied per printer. Some printers know what they're doing, but unfortunately, some do not. But customer service by Lulu is the biggest problem.

I suspect on the blank pages that you typeset your book with Adobe In 's a hokey program.
So, your basically stealing other publishers out of print works, your inserting a QR code in them to get you bitcoin and engaging in tax evasion skirting the IRS and your bitching at Lulu because you do not know how to check a PDF properly, all you care about clearly is ripping books and getting the evil bitcoin and slagging a company for little issues that are unique to you. Probably need to write your own book on grave digging and narcissism.
I've made photo-books with them and every now and then there's a messy print or the colours are messed up or they change the paper weight. They are quite inconsistent and like you said, very little quality control.

I have a theory. Reading on a screen isn't actually reading. It's watching media. You might be reading words, but the fact that the screen is refreshing at 60fps, or so, you're brain logs it as a movie, not reading.
