Thanks for the review. I was looking at this tripod, but the 4 section legs were a concern. I've had SLIKs in the past, and they are rock steady, but the leg locks wear out quickly

Looked a bit wobbly with the column up. Looking for a new stable tripod for use with a long heavy lens that won't break the bank. There at least 1000 different tripods. Would this be a good choice or is there something stronger around the $100 mark?
Bought it and absolutely loved carrying it everywhere in a backpack. Though I do have one huge complaint about it. The head portion has a strict tolerance on how much you can tighten it. I accidently overtightened one of the handles and ended up cracking a piece for one of the axis controls. I was very upset as the head is made almost entirely of metal and still broke. It still works as intended but its upsetting considering how much it costs.
I just posted a question below and I found out how to better remove the head. I just kept it tightly on the tripod and unscrewed easily. Thank you anyway for the great video
Thank you for this video. I own this tripod and I truly love it. Its practical sturdy and great for carrying around. I was searching for information regarding swiping its head. It seems though you were able to remove the head easily. For some reason, I am having a hard time to remove the head. I just purchased a Video head and want to install it. Do you have any suggestion?

How stable is the quick release pad? Does it need a coin or screw driver to lock down to camera? Can one replace the head with one that does not have a quick release which would be safer and stable. Some of the quick release pads are dangerous because the unit with the camera can fall off. Is this a problem with this tripod.

12 years ago I bought one of this tripods, it's a wolf inside a sheep! I used it as a stick for 40km distance hiking and it's still working like the first day. Solid tripod! Highly recommended for photographers.
Hi. Great impressing video!!chears! Questions= 1.Can it go very low to the ground without needing to put the legs on the longest lengh? (Because the tripod practically took all of the space in the room)... 2.Is this Tripod good for shooting Macro?(bugs,flowers,etc..) 3.Is the weight of the Tripod more than putting an 105 macro IF-ED VR +d3300 on? What's the head made of? Metal? Plastic? Is it pretty sturdy and stable?
Ideal Tripod for my needs, just bought my Panasonic G7 and i think this would be excellent for an amateur photographer like myself, great video as always, £54 here in the UK a bargain
Look a really good tripod. I bought a manffroto tripod for U$ 50 bucks on travel and its amazing, small, light and strong, but its head isnt very good, doesnt get much weight, but it works very well. If I shot for another tripod, I will check this. Also, a little feedback: if this video was faster and showing some detail shots of the tripod, would be better! :) cheers.

Did you ever have a problem with the head becoming unscrewed while panning? Or can you only unscrew it when the head's locked down? And if it is, could the plate spin work better?

Wiggle machine !!......"Adds a bit of wobble" ?? Huh ??? Wobble on a tripod ?? Gimme a break. Please folks....buy a TRIPOD and then don't use the center column. You buy a tripod for absolute stability. These do not provide it. PERIOD.
You should tighten both screws (upper and lower) to keep center column tight! I have SLIK tripods too, and didn't know this at first, but then noticed how much stable my center column is when both screws are tightened.
