I just got one of these, I like it! I notice you completely unscrewed the lens magnifier and took it out. It screws out so that people who wear glasses can see the marking magnified. I can't imagine why that would be useful, since you have to pick it up to look at it...

If you have a brain in your head don’t buy these cheaply made in Quality Chinese hand held compasses! I bought two different types including this one! Leveling bubble has a small little ball in the center it is glued in place on the inside of mine not Easily seen was a glue bubble on the inside! You could try for 1 million years and that level bubble would never center that’s number one! Number two on both campuses the metal piñon post on which the compass card resides flip-flops back-and-fort (S/B rigid and straight 90° straight up not able to move ) to where the compass card is never level no matter what you do! So you have been worn don’t buy this junk Until the Chinese quality control on these compasses change for the better!

The black thing you unscrewed that “screw” has a glass at the end of it so you did not have to unscrew it so you can see it even better

I'm New to Navigation, I have recently bought one of these compasses. I was wondering what the markings on the sighting window are used for? I have searched for days & can't find anywhere that even comes close to mentioning the marking on the window except for the obvious center line.
Chinese junk junk junk junk! Don’t Byam if you have a brain in your head! The steel piñon Post on which the Compass card resides flip-flops back-and-forth to where the card is always tilted! The air bubble centering on my other Compass as a glue ball on the inside to where the bubble never will center in 1 million years! Save your money don’t buy them!
