canon 50mm 1.4 vs sigma 30mm 1.4 wich do you recommend for apsc canon?
Thanks for the review it is clear art 30mm is much better image quality. I will save to get the better quaility art version. You had me going, I though for a moment you were going to cheap out on the EX. I might even go for the Art 35mm 1.2 because I use the sigma Sd1 camera and it likes plenty of photons hitting that Foveon image sensor.
The Tokina 14-20 f2 is really good if your looking for 21-30mm. It's like lots of prime lenses in 1. I got one on ebay for £240. I think its meant to be an £800 piece of glass..It would even be good with a 1.4x kenko teleconverter...(which are also a steal)

I have the sigma 18-35 1.8 . for stills if you compare the 18-35 set at 30mm and f 2.0 would you say the zoom 18-35 is sharper than the prime 30 set at f 2.0 . Would you say that the sigma 18-35 was sharper at 1.8 compared to the prime 30 set at 2.0 ?
What's the difference in the ex dc and the ex dg . Sigma has both in 30mm 1.4 .
I bought this lens back in 2012 and still have it - I don’t think it’s worth anything if I try to sell it. I had mine calibrated by Sigma due to the focusing issue with third party lenses that have been reverse engineered. The autofocus accuracy is much better as a result. Also the issue with soft images is much less of a problem. There is ghosting at f1.4 but it is very acceptable sharpness. I guess the lens Christopher tried needed calibration - btw both camera body and lens should be calibrated for the best performance. A lot of people still don't understand about calibration so will unfairly have a negative opinion of a lens as a result. I would say, in 2019 there are many other better choices in the 28mm-35mm range for photographers using crop cameras, including Sigma's updated 30mm Art lens. They still are likely to be soft wide open and, if third party, may need calibrating. Of course one major advantage in going mirrorless as I have done is you don’t get this calibration issue that dslrs suffer from.

I have this lens and i live in a very moist city and I have found fungus inside the front of the lens. Where i live, there are no trusted places to have it cleaned. Is there a way I could do it by myself? I found a few videos online about how the sigma 50mm hsm's front lens can be removed by twisting it around but found that it doenst work on mine. Please help me.
It’s weird tho I shoot with this lens on my 80d and my photos are quite sharp with a small amount of softness in the corners ... but I tested it out on a 700d and the image is not as sharp much like the photos shown in your video
I have this lens and i am pretty happy with it. Its not as soft on f1.4 as you have mentioned. | have taken quite a few awesome shots at f1.4

nope! the samyang is far far sharper, but you need to manual focus so.... you need to be good to get the best out of it.
