Love this Lens, especially when I can only carry one! Versatile focal length and excellent image quality. Heres a video I made about it. is it compared to a Tamron? I have a Tamron and the shutter is loud, startling the animals and I have issues with focus.

Reversed zoom direction drives me crazy.
I’m personally a bit of a Tamron G2 fan mainly because of the VR/VC on their primes along with good weather sealing. However, really love sigma lenses and do own the Sigma 105 macro which is superb. Looking forward to seeing your D780 review
I find with sigma art lenses, they appear hit or miss. The image sharpness doesn't seem consistent. For example, my 24mm Sigma art lens is good but it's not the best 24mm out there. the Nikkor 24mm, which is cheaper, is noticeably sharper. This is on my D810, which is no slough in the megapixel department. While I applaud Sigma for their build quality, I do wish they focused on image quality first before focusing on the packaging. After all, how many people put build quality of a lens above image quality?
That was one of the worst art lenses in my opinion. 50mm was the best.
I love Sigma's lens for my D850's but you can't beat Nikon's new 24-70 2.8 N

Hey Dustin, I have the EOSR. I do not have a 24-70 type lens. I can’t afford the RF24-70. I’m looking at this lens adapted or the RF 24-105. Which would you think would better? Have you compared? Both of these lens’ are within a 100 of each other. Wanted your input on it. I think I can over look the 2.8 if I don’t go that route. Which would be better image quality?

Dear friends be aware when u buy sigma lenses! My personal experience, 2 years ago i bought a Sigma 70-200 2.8 but after 8 months it gave me a problem. there was a sound like falling something inside the ever I press the focusing button the falling sound with a shake will occur. But the good thing is it's is still working. And 8 months ago i bought another sigma art 24-70 2.8. but now it's with some different problems. the lease connected to the camera if the camera goes standby mood it doest turn on the camera again due to lens error. 2. The lens generating a heat near the connector 3. When the zoom is at 70mm (full zoom) error message comes "lenses communication error" So think before buy a sigma lens! I've noticed an interesting phenomena with this lens. If you try to take a shot at 24 to 35 mm with f/2.8 and focus on hyper-focal distance or just some distant object you simply cannot get an acceptably sharp image. I even sent the lens for service to Sigma without any visible improvements unfortunately.

I just moved to Sony system from years of Canon use. I have always been fine with third party lenses (sigma/tamron) with 2.8s. I'm picking up this lens and a tamron 70-180 2.8 for my regular work. Thanks for the video

nice review. coming from d750+24-70 F/2.8 nikon, i'd like to switch to a7m4 for video and eye detetcion with a good 24-70. I have heard that sigma dn should be better or equal to sony for photography and eye detection but sonly with its motorization should have a better autofocus and eye detetcion for video. what do you think ? I really have no idea what we need for making video (wedding, babies, dogs,.)

hey guys, thanks for the review.I have been wanting to get this lens with the new a7siii but some people who had this lens is saying not to as they all experienced some dust getting inside the front element of the lens within 1 or 2 weeks of getting it apparantly when the lens barrel zooms out to 70mm, it opens up some scope for the dust to get inside. as you had this lens, did you faced anything like that if you are not understand what I am refering to then you may search "sigma 24-70 dg dn dust issue" on google and also, there is a video on youtube to solve that problem but I guess no one will be ready to open up there lens just after 2 or 3 weeks of getting it

Wow I didn't know that Sigma make lens under a kilo! :O I'm joking of course :) this lens and the new 1.4/85 DG DN Art are probably the best (and also more compact than their competition except for the Tamron 28-75 which is after all slightly different focal range, just for this purpose - to keep it smaller & lighter) lens for e-mount in their focal range. I would love to see the 1.4/40mm take this redesign (and keep its quality), so far the only thing putting me off buying the 1.4/40 is its 1,270g

Really curious to see how this sigma 24-70 performs against the tamron 24-70 for video! I've seen in another video of Fstoppers that the sigma had TERRIBLE image stabilization but some said that it was due to filming with it on a Nikon camera. I am thinking about buying this lens as my go to run-and-gun shootings, but I really need to know if it's worth the extra 400 euros compared to the well known Tamron 24-70 G2.
I was thinking of getting the Tamron 28-75, but thats made in China and this Sigma is made in Japan AND you get that sweet 24mm focal length. Think i'm gonna have to go with this.
