You miss the point of a 1.4 - light! Why no shots in low light?
Hello, thank you for this review. I want to buy sigma 24 mm 1.4 (it costs 770€ here) but now when I see this lens I can't dedcide. This lens costs 899€ and I don't know which one to buy. I'd love to hear your opinion which one is better value for money. Thanks, Martin.

I owned this lens for 3 years. Loved it! I sold it and my 12-24 art and bought the 14-24 Sigma art for Sony because of what I do now. Lots of weight shed and I can use filters now. Still, for indoor. This lens is killer! Don’t hesitate if you can get a deal on it.

Hi Christopher! I have a question for you. I have 2 choices to get Sigma lens for my Nikon aps-c to use in wedding, wide angle images: 1) only Sigma 20mm f1.4 Art lens or 2) Sigma 24mm f1.4 Art lens and plus Samyang 12mm f/2.8 lens. I want to get nice images with good background, contrast, at least central sharpening on wedding day or wide angle territory photos. Which one do you prefer to me? Thanks.

i like your reviews but you are always using a photo chart to assess image quality. that doesn't seem accurate because you are using the same focal distance for each test. isnt it better to test at different focal lengths?

i've been using this lens and d750 for property interior shot for half a year now. this lens' surprisingly usable images at f1.4 plus d750's awesome low light performance, the combo is a bloody killer for handheld interior photography.
Hi Chris. Love your videos. Ive just moved to Sony A7III for wildlife and landscape photography from Canon. I used to use a Sigma 10-20mm on my old Canon 7dmk2 and liked that lens a lot. Although it had its flaws I found it became my go to landscape lens. Ive got a Sony 28-70 kit lens but want something like my old 10-20mm. A friend of mine has bought the lens in your video and his pictures are simply amazing with it. Trying to get my head around the wideness equivalent to the 10-20mm. I use an MC-11 with my Sigma 150-600mm and works like a dream so wildlife is covered. For landscapes had considered Canon wide angle lenses but not much experience with them. What would you recommend? Would 28mm be ok for merging panoramic shots? The 10-20mm used to cut out a lot of post processing work.

I like the 20 mm Sigma lens . But my question is why would you not put it on a aps-c sensor camera ?
i love the astrophotography, but i'm also a concert photographer. i think this will help me so much for the public shoots during the night or indoor shows, can't wait to get this lens!
0:39 I can't imagine any serious astrophotographer getting a high end lens like the Sigma and *not* getting an equatorial mount, so we don't really need to consider star trails here.

Hey Tony, I have the Nikon 20mm 1.8 and I think it's much better. I don't need the 1/3 extra stop... I've looked for a review from you on the 20mm Nikon and can't find anything... the nikon allows for a 77mm filter mount

Great review! Good to see this art lens is a winner since the art lenses have been kinda a mixed bag. I have to say the comparison of the rokinon interested me the most though. Its literally half the price of the sigma which just confirms its incredible value and why ill probably buy it over the sigma.
Tony please follow along. Normally, vignetting is not a big deal. When you are shooting astro, it's a huge deal! Say you shot your sky at ISO 3200, and you check the lens correction. If the software brightens those corners by, say, two stops, now the corners look like you shot them at ISO 12,800!!! I will say that on this lens, I don't know any astrophotographers who shoot at F1.4. They all stop down to f2.2 or f2.5 to get rid of the horrible coma wide open. At THAT point, the vignetting is not a problem.
Question can you use this lense for filming?
I'm torn between getting this 20mm lens, or Sigma's 35mm 1.4, or even Sigma's new 14mm 1.8; somebody help me make a decision. I would be using the lens for Astrophotography (of course) and possibly Landscapes, such as sunrises and sunsets. I would be using a D810 btw.
1:40 but with a wider than usual prime and a good sensor / pixel count you can drop the image to taste 2-5mm wouldn't make much difference. 20mm is a great length for landscapes, for me, it's the magic number.
This lens for northern lights here in Alaska is absolutely amazing
Stick it on the Ursa Mini and you have a 24mm 1.4 and the same with GH5 and metabones XL.
That micro contrast was very impressive 👍🏼 No mention of the mis focusing that everyone mentions.
why are you comparing dng to jpg?
Just went out and shot the Milky Way tonight off the Oregon Coast and could definitely feel the restrictive nature of my 28-75mm f2.8 Tamron lens when shooting the stars. I had to go Shooting 10 second exposers based on the NPF rule, I had to use 5000-6400 ISO, (which isn't terrible on my a7III, but still) to compensate for that f2.8. This lens would definitely be a game changer for me if I could afford it.
Would you say in terms of autofocus it does performs properly? i´ve read 24art is much sharper..
Hi Jon, i am having a EF 16-35mm f2.8L. But the distortion of the Ultra wide is really made me strugling in portrait and wedding photography like you mentioned. Do you think is it worth me to change it to this sigma 20mm too?

Jon-Great review with samples. Just purchased Sony A7 iii and wondered if you thing this lens would work flawlessly on mirrorless camera? You may be ONLY Canon shooter and not know, but I am interested in this focal length. One last question: Did you ever feel as though the lens would be easily scratched since it protrudes so much? Why do people use a battery grip for street shooting, to work on wrist strength? I only use my 1DX for sports where I can use a monopod. I specifically bought other lighter cameras for landscape and street...
