Very solid review and comparison! It is over 5 years though. I just spotted it.
I just started photography earlier this year and after going on a hike with my friends, I hated stopping and switching lenses to capture a distant bird and then switch back for a wide landscape. A single lens would greatly reduce that switching time.

These I think like also 18-400mm is for 3-4 lenses with better specs carry around to fit situations is better. These is like having 24-70 24-105 55-250 70-300 16-300 18-300 or 18-400 to carry as daily driver but missing wide like 8mm 10mm 10-24mm 16-35mm 50mm or primes f2 f2.8 f4.
