Does it work with canon R5 by using EF to RF mount ?
Would you say that Canon f2 is far behind Sigma in terms of overall performance, or you need some serious pixel peeping to see the difference? Your Canon video is from 2014 and you said the quality of the lens is outstanding. But here a small rant in the end threw me off the track. And I couldn't find any worthy comparison on YT.
I want a good performance, but also Canon could save me some money and AF issues. I hear Sigma has a lot of them on DSLR's and AF is completely fixed when paired with RF cameras. f0.2 is not a big of an issue for me.
Hi @christopher_frost I have a question on urgent basis.
Kindly tell me how to get aberration correction data in Canon 6D for sigma 135mm 1.8.
in my camera it shows correction data not available. cannot correct no data.
kindly guide me about this problem thanks. waiting for your answer.
Can edit after using this lens for two years now:
ON DSLRs (Canon 80D, 2000D and 7DMk2) I had autofocus issues - but ON DLSM (Canon R6) with eye-autofocus all problems were gone and I had 10 out of 10 sharp pictures - I LOVE this lens, highly recommended
Great video! Thank you for the images while you talk and not just your own vlog type video. This made clear why I shouldn't get the lens. It is technically brilliant but has no character what so ever. Those photos are great but they clearly show how less of a character this lens has (or how character less this lens is). For others that may not matter but for people like me who crave for that aesthetic character in a lens, this is a failed product. Thanks a lot for the video. I can peacefully sleep now because I don't need to spend $1.5k lol
P.S. Subbed because you showed me what I wanted to see.
I wouldn't say that the canon 135 has aged I LOVE IT
Hi, Chris! Please test Sigma 50mm f1.4 Art with Canon APS-C like this test, not using House Picture. Thanks
Help me any one, I have the 18-135mm f. 4,70-200mm f 2.8, 50 mm f 1.8 and 35mm f 1.8, I don't have enough budget so I cannot decide which lens should i go for 24-70mm, 85mm or 135mm, i want it for wedding photography
Question I have this lens. The problem is it’s an L mount lens. Bought it believing it would fit my Canon cameras. But when ?I tried it does not. Do they make an adapter for this lens so it fits my canon cameras or even my Nikon D3400?
Oh I can mount it alright.
question onSony A7iii - is the focus ring always ON? I mean, will it move focus when you move the ring even in AF mode?
Sir, please review the tamron 24mm f2.8 iii for sony
Aliens made this.
Hi Christopher, your smooth voice, awesome articulation and choice of background jazz alongside really thourough reviews, puts you at the very top of reviewers. Trustworthy indeed. Best regards, from Denmark.
have you tried the irix 150mm?
Just bought mine the Fujifilm X-T3 and the Fringer Pro ll AF converter.
Is this a zoom lens?
Would this lens work on a canon rebel t7i?
Sigma is simply the best lens producer these days.
Thank you for your review. In your opinion which lens is better 105mm or 135mm Sigma Art for portraits.
Old video, but due to Covid-19 I've had an opportunity to look at some you tube videos. Sigma 135 may be okay, but show me 8x0 and 11x14 prints, not backlit small social media images. I'll stick with my Canon 135mm f/2. I also use a Canon 100mm lens to shoot portraits. It's not the macro its a 100mm USM f/2 lens. Not sure if Canon makes it anymore. I've had it for 18 years of so. I found it on Amazon new and used but not on B&H so that tells me that it's probably not being manufactured anymore. I like it for portraits better than the 85mm, which in my opinion was and is not anywhere close to being an ideal portrait lens and I've been a pro photographer for 40 years. The Canon 135mm, and Canon 70-200 IS 2.8 L, are my go to lenses for outdoor portraiture, in studio I shoot with my 24-135 Canon because it gives me more flexability. I will say I've owned two sigma lenses. Both needed repairs after a year or so and Sigma was good at repairing them, even though one was about a week out of warranty. But it went bad againgot it fixed again and sold it. So, I'm suspect of Sigmas qualitymaybe they've improved, I don't know.
Wondering if you can update this review w nikon z6 or z7? How does it compare to nikon 105mm 1.4?
Nikon 135 2.8 ai manual lens can take better pic than this and cost only 100 usd on ebay
What is the point of paying so much for lens and you have to an adapter.
Which is better between Canon 135mm f2 vs sigma 135mm f1.8? I’m confused!
I like shooting with my sigma 80 and 5 lens. but for groups I like shooting my canon 30 and 5. lol why does this guy say 100 AND 35 so many times? It's a one hundred thirty five not a one hundred AND thirty five. ha
Anyway, good vid, altho to be fair the canon 135 f2.0 is like 25 years old, who wouldn't think the Sigma is better? Of course not weather sealed.
Also this 135 would suck on a cropped sensor camera.
CV is soooo pretty!
Did you use flash on this session?
Had they given the 85, 105, and 135mm Art lenses image stabilization, Sigma would own the prime portrait market. I’m sending the 85mm Art back. I simply can not get a handheld image sharp. On a tripod it’s razor sharp, but in my hands, even at 1/5000 I can not get a sharp image. I can not figure this out. I can easily get sharp pictures on three zooms that I have that will shoot at 85mm with OS turned off, but not the Sigma. Could there be a mechanical reason for this?
Where’s the meta data on the LR images? Otherwise very helpful.
Got my eyes on this, but not sure if I can sacrifice my 70-200
Below are my favorite primes I own
Rokinon 135 f2
Nikon 180 f2.8 Ed
Nikon 105 f2.5
Tokina 100mm f2.8
Lester a dine 100 mm f2.8
Speed master 85mm f1.2
Nikon 50 mm ais f1.2
Nikon 55mm ais f1.2
Tamron adaptall 300mm f2.8
Tamron 90 mm f2.8 macro
Tamron 60mm f2.8 macro
I may have a problem.
Hi Toby, I'd like to consider this vs the Nikkor 105 F1. 4 or Sig 105 F1. 4; my current portraits are manual focus Zeiss/Voigtlander and while I love those lenses, not having auto focus just doesn't work for me. Could you please do a video comparing the three lenses or weigh on here with your suggestions? Love the videos btw. Keep em coming!
awesome video comparison, thank you very much for this. I think you said it best though when you mentioned if we already have the 70 to 200 Tamron then this lens might not be a good purchase
Honestly, I think if you own any decent performing 70-200 lens, you don't "need" this lens. However, if you have G.A.S., you may want to go ahead and pick one up.
35 mm v 50 mm v 135 mm v 200 mm for portraits. Its all about what you prefer and what you can afford to shoot with.
Hey, thanks for this review. well done and a great shot. I'm going to sleep on it but I put a 135 sigma in my cart on b&h through your link. Cheers.
Why didn't you wait for e mount release
I love love love your channel !
what 70-200 do you use? i dont have eye af with my sigma 70-200. im using mc11 with my a6500

I real like this lens
But my 1970s om 135mm is a very decent lens
Fantastica recensione
Been using this lens for about a week on my t7i and it’s definitely an upgrade compared to the kit lens. This lens is fast and sharp for the price range.
Sigma Art lenses are amazing. I own the 50 1.4 and the 20 1.4. Wonderful, BUT unless I plan on printing @ 50”, my wife’s iPhone is just as good.
DSLR’s are dead
What about using it for sports?
Can a polarizer remove the glare from glasses?
Fro Bro I have big GUNS I am going to use this lens adapted to a gfx. It should give me the same focal length at the 110mm G lens
I love the sharpness
Get a haircut hipster, it's the 21st century dummy
What happened with the beard after 11:47 ? Where does this lens stand in comparison with the 105/1.4 Art ?
whats the point of even having a 1.4? the 1.8 seems to do everything you need
If you can't get the focus with the sunglasses on, it's better to focus peak with manual
That is great for portraits but how would it do for sports?
Very very nice portraits of Gonzalo Higuain.
Really substandard portrait shots of that man, pretty lousy, no creativity at all, you should use more dynamism to create an energetic head shot.
I would recommend opening the aperture just a smidge more so at least the other eye and/or the facial hair is slightly more in focus
Struggling to decide between this and the sigma 105 f1.4, for my sony a7riii, I'm a wedding photographer.
Will this work with Canon 7d original? Or it's not worth getting for the 7d?
I shoot alot of sports photo (Running) under low light condition (8pm-9pm) i know this is not an ideal lens for sports but when the lens nailed the focus during the running test shot, i was sold. what are your thoughts Jared? Maybe you can do a follow up sports test under low light in your next video? Cheers
Great review. Gave me a lot to think about since I have a d7000. Much appreciated.
I just want to thank those who watched my video. I know everyone's subscription feed is flooded with the new Canon camera videos so hopefully this was a nice change of pace :)
Have you tried this lens on a canon eos r and looking back it now (2 years later) do you still recommend this lens?
She must be your wife sister
So Mr. Ortiz. I want to invest on a new Bokeh master lens. So after watching this video now i'm torn up between the Sigma 105mm 1.4 or this Sigma 135mm 1.8. Which do you prefer
So clear u can see the future!
My old stomping grounds, excellent!
how is it on moving subjects?
Sigma 135 or Sony 135?
Its really amazing .i like that
Damn these photos make me want this lens even more . I’m on the fence of buying into the Sony system. I’m a Nikon dslr shooter. We shoot so much live music video I’m thinking of moving into the Sony mirrorless system. But it’s hard to pull my Nikon out of my hands .
I'm sold ! 135
"You see into the future with this lens" Yo, that comment alone made this entire video extra special! lol
Yo Manny, Great video. Question what strap do you have on your camera? Is it peak? i love that color can't find it anywhere. Also, thanks for the video. Keep up the amazing work!
Do u need a mount converter to fit sigma to Sony a7 III
Can you test the Sony Zeiss 85 mm 1.8 Batis lens ?
Loved the music for the shoot .its relaxing yet animated
Im impressed with that lens results .especially since you're not using any external strobe .
Your art is amazing! What is your "My GO TO FLASH for portability on location"? The link doesn't work.
I thought you were shooting with the Sony until you said Sigma again at the end! Love this video, thank you. :)
You make all these lens work great idk which one should I get for portrait
