Honestly the PG58 makes less noise when handheld and has less breath noise when up close judging by this comparison. I think some people just get the SM58 to jump on the bandwagon. The price difference isn't worth it.
I've just bought a wireless PG58 and I've owned an SM58. I've done a bit of research myself into the differences and all I could find regarding the wireless versions is that the Sm58 is less prone to feedback and Win noise. When it comes to the wired versions the SM58 is a little bit more well built. Sound quality wise its down to personal opinion. The Sm58 is more of a warmer and fuller sound. The PG58 is still a very good professional Mic. The SM58 is preferred due to it being more robust but if looked after there both Quality mics.
No big difference in performance. If the price is the difference why not go for PG58. Still the best.
If I use two PG at the same time will it sound better?
I've been using a PG58 in a small room for band practice and its been pretty good. That said it's not mine and I wanted one of my own so I brought a Beta SM58A and it didn't work as well in that setting. I had to turn down the vocals to avoid feedback which meant i had to push my voice harder. The Beta SM58A also seemed to pick more room noise as well as the quieter vocals which is the opposite of what I wanted. I don't get why the PG58 which is half the price would perform better then Beta SM58A, maybe it's just better in small spaces?
To me sounds almost same
SM58 has warmer sound and less plosives, I would use PG58 in Karaoke or home use but would choose SM58 for more professional or stage use
I would have made this demonstration shorter and faster to understand.
I just recently dug my PG58 out of the closet after 10 years. It sounds so much better than my USB condenser mic and doesn't pick up on every single keytap and click.

Sm58 sounds better if you were to listen to a voice for a longer duration, if you were using it say for a short period announcement mic I would go with the pg58 it's good enough.

I believe the SM58 won the sound battle but in my opinion I don't believe there is enough difference to need to pay more for the SM58. So I'll be buying the PG58... thank you for your video and allowing us the chance to hear them side by side, very well made video!

i bought this for my podcasts ... it beats not having a microphone or using some headsets microphone or even a condenser one which were picking up all the noise around the house (( even the ones coming from the kitchen far from the room ) there are better and worse ones out there but for the 55 euros I paid for it I think it does a good job for what I need. One day i can upgrade from it to something higher like a Rode Procaster if I really have the need to do

*do7.pl/SM58** Hi this is Ninjn, and this is me talking on the SM58S, S edition. I did not do any modifications to this audio.I have been using this to stream videos of me playing games on twitch. The mic itself is a bit boomy at times especially if you're too close.Other than that it holds very close to the SM7B in terms of quality, but the SM58S is a great buddget alternative. One thing to mention, is you will need a USB interface for the SM58. It uses a lot of gain. I personally use the Behringer UM2 for budget purposes. If you want to future proof a bit more instead of the UM2, get something like a Scarlett Solo gen2 or Behringer UMC202HD, plus the Cloudlifter amp or Fethead amp to boost the gain on the SM58.*

I've been using it for a year and a couple of months for mainly voice over and it's decent, but i could use an upgrade at this point. It's served me well though

I bought one of the pga58 microphones and i think it’s a good starter mic that costs $30 but comes with a $20 sticker. Point being is that we have the swim view point on the sticker because when I first saw it I said out loud “where the H311 am I supposed to put this” and back in the box the sticker went. Anyways I hope your channel gets a plosives
